Morgan was suddenly distracted by the arrival of another patron. A man, strangely enough.

A compelling man garbed in black, with dark hair streaked with gray and bound at his nape. His gaze swept the room before he walked to one of the chairs by the glass doors and sat. His posture was almost military and his legs parted in a masculine pose that seemed at odds with his uncommonly refined attire. While he wasn’t exactly goth, he certainly wasn’t a normal. Unique was the only word that suited him.

Morgan turned toward the window and discreetly studied the man’s reflection. His great taste in clothing aside, she couldn’t quite determine whether he was ugly or handsome.
Beneath the table, Uma kicked Morgan’s leg to gain her mother’s attention. She shifted her gaze in the man’s direction.

"What?" Morgan mouthed the word.

"Cute," Uma mouthed back.

*Way too old for you*, Morgan thought, hoping Uma would have the common sense to use her telepathic gift so their companion wouldn’t suspect he was the subject of their conversation.

"I meant for you," Uma whispered. "And I do have common sense."

"I told you, Uma, I’ve given up on roller skating," Morgan said, alluding to her rules regarding the opposite sex. "I’ve had too many falls."

"Because you were wearing badly fitting skates, Mum," Uma said, then lowered her voice. "I’m going to check him out."

Morgan sighed, a smile flirting with her lips. It wasn’t ethical for Uma to use her telepathic powers to scope out dates for her mother, especially when Morgan had no intention of wasting her time on men. She had her jobs and her kid. That was more than enough for any woman.

Uma’s brow furrowed and she turned back to her tea. "That’s weird."

Uma reached into her pocket book and found a pen. She scribbled a note on her napkin.
*I can’t read his mind.*

Sara glanced over her shoulder when the screen door opened. Mike. The pan she'd been drying fell from her hands and clattered to the floor.

"We need to talk."

"Where's Garrett?" she asked, attempting to peer around his broad shoulders. She tried not to make eye contact with him. As long as she didn't look him directly in the eye, she'd be able to maintain her composure.

"You've always put him on a goddamn pedestal."

She bent over to pick up the pan. "Don't you dare say anything unkind about him."

"He's a pain in the ass."

Sara shot him a look. "He's not the only one."

A slow smile curved his lips. "Now there's the Sara I know and love."

"Don't you dare throw that word around. If you loved me we wouldn't be in this situation." A surge of emotion tightened her chest, and she silently cursed herself for letting him get to her.

Hands on his hips, Mike sighed. "Look, I know you have every reason to believe that, but it's just not true. I've loved you since the first moment I laid eyes on you."

She paused. God, how she wanted to believe him. But if he'd truly loved her as he claimed, he'd never have been able to stay away for so long. She swallowed past the lump in her throat and reached into the drainer for something else to dry.

"All right, I'm done playing. Come on, we're going for a ride." Mike reached out and grasped her elbow.

"I'm not going anywhere with you," she said, yanking her arm free. "If you want to talk, we'll talk, but we're doing it right here." She tossed the dishtowel on the counter and crossed her arms over her chest.

"You either follow me to my truck or I'll throw you over my shoulder and carry you there. But one way or another, we're taking a ride."

She gasped. "If you touch me I'll scream bloody murder."

"Then I guess I'll have to gag you as well."

He took a step toward her. She took a step back.

"You stay the hell away from me." She took another step back and bumped into the table.

"Not a chance. I made that mistake once, I won't make it again."

"So you're a vampire."
Clio was once again back in Kryssin's room packing for the trip she didn't want to take with a man she couldn't trust herself to be around. Picking a fight seemed the most reasonable solution to her hormonal problem.
"You have that whole mind thing going."
"You've been around for a million years."
"You've got issues with sunlight."
"Yes but-"
"You can turn all freaky when you want,"
"I suppose you can call it that but-"
"Then you're a vampire."
"No, I'm not."
"But you drink blood, shrink in sunshine and can put a whammy on someone's mind."
"I'm not a damn vampire, woman."
"But you have the whole blood thing going on?"
"That makes you a vampire."
"No, it doesn't."
"Let's try this again," she said ticking off each finger as she spoke. "You drink blood, you have a problem with the sun, you have the pointy teeth thing and you sleep during the day. I say that makes you a vampire." She paused as a new thought occurred to her. "Can you change into a bat?"
"Why would I want to? And I'm not a vampire!"
"It's okay, really, I won't tell anyone, but you can't keep denying it when you don't have a reflection. It's a huge vampire give away."

Warmed by the drink, she smiled. "It's a good thing neither of us has to worry about making another connection once we get to Denver." She leaned toward him and held out her free hand. "I'm Breanna, by the way, but most people call me Bree."

He lowered his drink to the table and reached across it to take her hand. His fingers chilled by his glass curled gently around her own. "I'm Steven. Most people call me...uh...Steven."

She laughed, liking his sense of humor. "Fair enough." She released his hand and scooted back in her cushy chair. As she did, his gaze followed her movement almost as if he wanted to undress her and was trying to decide how to do it. When he realized she watched him, he glanced down then stiffened visibly. His long fingers curled into fists and his body moved slightly toward her.

Bree looked to see what had captured Steven's attention. Her magazine sat on the coffee table at a half angle where both of them could clearly see the photograph of the man licking his way down the woman's body. Horrified that she had tossed the magazine opened to that page, she jerked upright.

A slow hiss escaped his lips, and he looked at her with a question in his eyes.

An Egg-cerpt from Kathleen Grieve

Title: The Doctors Deception

Author: Kathleen Grieve

Genre: Champagne Rosebud

From: The Wild Rose Press

Heart surgeon Stone Lassiter has successfully transplanted beating hearts. It's his own that causes him the most agony. With a death bed promise to his fiancée, he's driven to open a transplant center in her hometown and arrives at Deerborne County General Hospital. Single minded in his focus, he inadvertently alienates the nursing staff he needs to make his dream a success. He sets his stethoscope on intensive care nurse, Faith Daniels, to improve his image.

Nurse of the Year, Faith Daniels has passed every nursing exam, but when faced with the MCAT, she has severe test anxiety. Burned by her ex-husband, who used her to put him through law school, she has become focused on passing that darn exam and achieving her own dream to become a doctor.

Will Stone's white lie jeopardize the love they find?

Faith opened the door and there he stood. She'd seen Dr. Lassiter in a suit and tie before. He didn't always wear scrubs while in the unit. But she should've known after her traitorous reaction to him lately, that tonight would be different--more personal.

Her breath caught.

Okay, to be fair, she did want his body. She could admit that freely to herself.

His honey blonde hair was damp and curled slightly at his collar. From the wet look, he'd waited until the last minute to get ready. Nothing vain about this man. The dark dinner jacket he wore accentuated his powerful shoulders and broad chest. The white shirt set a sharp contrast to his tan skin. Her fingers itched to loosen the simple black silk tie and unbutton the top buttons of his shirt to get to what lay underneath.

"Hello, Faith."

Slowly exhaling, she silently whistled and gazed into his eyes. Jeez, get a grip. Here she was undressing him before the evening had even begun. But, the heat radiating from the brown depths set off fire alarms in her brain.

Finally. Melted chocolate. Her gaze flew to his lips. How would he taste?

Try as she might, there was no shutting out reality. Her stomach quivered in tandem with her thoughts.

Oh, my.

"Hi, Dr. Lassiter," she said, breathless.

This is not a date. This is not a date. This is not…

His lips curved.

Dr. Burnadak hunched forward, resting his forearms on the desk. "So
you believe a man materialized in your room, saved your life, and
then vanished?"

Her back stiffened. "Actually, I'm not sure what to believe. For the
last three years I've had dreams about...Alexander."

"You mean dreams about the night of the fire?"

Natalie froze. No, not about the fire, although her dreams held that
same heat. Finally, she shook her head.

"Well, if not about the fire, then what?"

She bit the inside of her cheek and readjusted herself in the chair.
How was she to explain she was having erotic dreams about an
imaginary man to a stranger who was already looking at her as if she
had two heads?

"Did you have a dream last night?"

Pressing her dry lips together, she nodded.

"Well, why don't you start there?"

She steered her gaze towards the window, a few minutes passing before
she found the courage to speak. "In my dreams, he's standing by my
bedroom door, watching me."

"How do you feel when you see him watching you?"

She touched her hand to her throat. "Warm inside, like his gaze is
burning into me, stronger than anything I've ever experienced before.
When I see him I feel drawn, compelled to be near him."

"Then you're attracted to him?"

She nodded without thinking. "It's more than an attraction though,
that's what frightens me." She flashed a brief uneasy smile then
focused back on the window.

"How does Alexander act in these dreams?"

"He starts out a complete gentleman, but…" She was once again lost in
the fantasy.

"Something primal takes over, and there's a beast raging
inside him set on claiming me. He backs me to the wall,
dragging his hands the length of my body until he's on his
knees…" (For more on The Awakening visit )

PG-13 Excerpt:

The bell above the door jangled. Wind swept into the room along with what had to be two of the sexiest men she'd ever laid eyes on. Both men were tall and broad of shoulder. Each wore a long, black designer trench coat. One alone was probably worth at least as much as she would pay in rent over the next couple of months, however, that was where their similarities ended. In their own way, they were both stunning, but Gail's gaze was inexplicably drawn to the taller of the two men.
He wasn't classically handsome. With his shaggy auburn hair and square jawline, he wouldn't have been described by anyone as one of the pretty boys who graced the covers of a magazine or the silver screen. Instead, he possessed a raw masculinity that oozed testosterone.
The very way he swaggered into the lobby, his head held high and proud, the shallow cleft in his chin leading the way, made Gail think of handcuffs and rough, sweaty sex. The kind where you had to beg and plead before your partner allowed you to reach an earth-shattering release. The kind of sex she'd only read about in her romance novels.
Hypnotic, emerald green eyes, surrounded by black-lace-fringed eyelashes, rose and met hers. Their gazes locked and Gail forgot how to breathe. She felt like he could see into the depths of her soul, scrounge out all the secrets she held. Some unexplainable primal need sprang up inside of her, begged her to lie down at the altar of his lust and slake the sexual thirst he had yet to quench.
His gaze broke away from her as he turned to say something to his companion, and just like that she was breathing again. A wiggly tingle raced down her spine and Gail shivered, pushing away her strange thoughts. With his attention momentarily diverted, it also gave her a chance to check out his companion.
The man accompanying Mr. Hot-sex was beautiful. There was no other way to describe him. Shiny, iridescent black hair brushed away from his forehead and hung in a thick braid down his back, ending just short of where she figured his tight, firm bottom was located. High cheekbones, dark chocolate eyes and full pink lips rounded out his angular face. Where his friend screamed of raging testosterone and rough sex, he whispered of long passionate nights filled with soft kisses and endless lovemaking.
They complemented each other. One rough and tumble, the other gentle and coaxing. As far as Gail was concerned, that meant neither one of them would give her more than a passing glance.
If only she was five inches taller and twenty pounds lighter…
While pretending to type something into the computer, she watched the men out of the corner of her eye. They spoke in hushed tones, so she couldn't make out what was being said, but even without being able to hear, gazing at them was enough of a treat. It wasn't often she got to see men as hot as these two. Just looking would be plenty to fuel her fantasies for a good, long while.
As she looked on, the dark-headed man nodded in her direction. Heat suffused her face at being caught staring and she dropped her gaze to the keyboard just as the men stepped apart, apparently finished with their discussion. Her cheeks on fire, she didn't dare a glance up until they stood on the other side of the service desk. Mr. Hot-sex, who stood slightly in front of his friend, laid a titanium credit card in front of her. Not platinum, titanium. Even working in the motel, she'd never seen one of those.
She fidgeted as her abnormally strong sense of smell kicked in. As she rubbed the toe of one shoe over the other, the intoxicating aroma of male musk tinged with the strong overlay of scented deodorant invaded her nostrils. "Welcome to the Dew Drop Inn. How may I help you?"
"Need a room," said Mr. Hot-sex, his voice low and husky. Gail shivered, imagining that same voice whispering dirty words to her in the middle of the night while he rammed his stiff cock in and out of her aching pussy.
Her body throbbing from the mental picture show in her mind, Gail pasted on a fake work smile and pushed away the urge to whimper. "Sure."
She shot a quick glance at the second man before meeting Mr. Hot-sex's gaze. "Double beds?"
"King," he replied, his gaze combing her face, making her feel like he was daring her to say something about their sleeping arrangements. As if she would. She'd grown accustomed to all the hot ones being gay or married. Though she had absolutely no reason to feel disappointed, she did. "No problem," Gail muttered. "Just tonight or are y'all planning to stay longer?"
She wanted to ask what the length of their stay depended on, but figured she already knew the answer—the weather. "Um, okay. In that case, I'll just authorize your credit card for the funds and we'll charge you when you check out. That okay?"
He nodded, his long, slim fingers tapping against the white surface of the counter.
Gail logged him into the computer and assigned him a room number. She picked up the plastic on the counter and swiped it from end to end in the credit-card machine, biting her lip as she waited for it to go through. When it was accepted, she turned back to him. "I'll just need to see an ID then and you'll be all set, Mr…"—she glanced down at the card she held out to him—"uh, Mr. Long." Something about his name tickled her and she had to suppress a smile. It was a childish response, but she couldn't help wondering if he lived up to his name.
He traded her one card for another, his calloused fingers rasping over her palm. Electric tingles shot up her arm and zinged straight to her nipples, making them tighten and peak against her shirt. Mr. Long's attention dropped to her chest and she could've sworn she felt his gaze like a touch against her breasts.
Flustered, she quickly finished filling in the personal information the computer required for registration. She gave them the room farthest from the lobby, not that the last room was all that far away since there were only twelve rooms. Done, she pushed his room key across the countertop, careful not to touch him. "Here you go. You're in room twelve. It's the last one at the end of the hall. Y'all shouldn't have any problem finding it."
He plucked the key off the counter and turned to his companion, handing it over. "Thanks," he murmured while bending to pick up their luggage.
"Have a good night," she inanely replied as they walked away.
When they disappeared around the corner, she let out a tense breath of relief. Thank God they were gone. With any luck, she wouldn't have to face either one of them again. The way her body responded to their presence was mortifying. She knew it had been too long since the last time she'd gotten laid but that didn't mean she wanted to advertise it to the world.
Glancing down, she saw her nipples poking out of her shirt. Traitors. The horny little sluts were begging for attention and apparently didn't care if they humiliated her in the process.
Gail flopped back in her chair, picked up her novel and sank back into a fantasy world where average women like her saw just as much action as drop-dead-gorgeous supermodels.

Chapter 1

Ryan White tried not to stare. He really did. But he was a man, and she was so damn sexy. More importantly, she was in the process of taking off her clothes.

From his desk in the living room, he watched one of three black and white monitors from the surveillance cameras hidden in Paige Knowles place. For two weeks now, he'd been staking out her house. The Bureau didn't consider her the simple owner of a small, online video store. They suspected her of being involved in an internet piracy ring in Phoenix . From what Ryan had seen, he didn't believe it.

But he had to prove her innocence. He'd managed to get the cameras inside her home, but hadn't yet had the time to search for any incriminating evidence. Soon, though, he'd figure out a way.

He took a deep swallow from his beer, but the drink didn't sooth the thirst and anticipation burning through his body.

Eleven-thirty and right on schedule.

In her master bedroom, Paige walked to her bed and unbuttoned her blouse with slow, sure movements, making him wonder how capable those same hands would be on his own body. No doubt, they'd be just as deft as they danced and stroked his flesh. He shifted in the office chair, unable to control the hunger pooling in his groin.

She tossed back her dark hair with a jerk of her chin before shrugging out of the sleeves and dropping the shirt on her bed to reveal a black bra that cupped round, full breasts. Damn, they were a perfect size for his hands.

Next, she pulled off her jeans. The denim slipped over her lush hips and settled to the ground around her ankles. She stepped from them on lean, incredibly long legs that looked strong enough to wrap around his hips and bind him to her.

When she reached around to unhook her bra, Ryan swallowed with difficulty and swiveled his chair away from the desk and the screen. Conscious of her vulnerability, he looked away in a valiant effort to afford her some privacy. Each evening as she got ready for the night, he'd found himself drawn to the screen like some perverted voyeur. Every single time, he gave in to his sickness and savored every tantalizing glimpse of her naked body.

Tonight Ryan lasted a full minute before he caved.

He rolled his chair back around and stared at the monitor.

Oh, shit.

Ryan jerked up in his chair and set his beer on the desk with a loud thump.

Naked. Every glorious inch.

"Oh, he is good," I whispered. I wanted to watch the prince's life drain from him, just as he was draining the spirit from me. My vow to stop rebelling forgotten, I envisioned Prince Modred's blood pooling at my feet.

"What was that, Lin?"

"The bastard is good. A worthy adversary. He knew precisely where to strike. Where it would hurt most. That is why I did not see him today. Oh, for a bard's curse."

"Lin, leave it. You cannot win against him."

"Ah, but I will. Just you watch me, Dafydd. So help me, I shall win." I heaved my bowl across the room towards the palace. Its contents flew in every direction, and people in its path ducked their heads to avoid being hit by the missile. "This is between you and me, prince. Attack me all you want, but leave my brother out of it."

When Deana awoke, she lay in a cozy bed in what looked like the Enchantment Suite, with the real Tristan Wallace hovering over her.

“Are you well now?” He glanced over at the corner of the room at a tall man with a long silver beard and soft blue eyes. “Nigel and I have plenty of questions for you.”

“No, I’m not well.” She closed her eyes, hoping that Tristan and his boss would disappear when she opened them.

Damn, they were still there. It was easier for her to believe this was all just a bad dream, rather than believe some fairy amulet took her back in time.

Time travel only happened in movies, and even then there were much more creative ways to move about in time. She didn’t travel by any kind of machine, or even a De Lorean. Nope, she only made a wish, and stuff like that didn’t happen in the real world.Hope this'll work.

Wanted your readers to know that this is a time travel. It's set in 1962 in Manchester England and Deana made a wish to go 1962, before the sexy rock star/spy disappeared and meet him because he was her childhood crush. I had so much fun writing this .

Pastel Egg-cerpt by Tina Gayle

Title: Pregnancy Plan

"A pregnancy plan?" Derek’s words came from directly behind her. She could feel his breath on her neck, his eyes boring into her back.

"Yes, a plan on how to get pregnant." The frustration and anger began to build within her. Jillian gathered her shaking hands around her cup and willed them to be still. "Look, Derek, I don’t mean to sound rude, but it really is none of your business what I do. I’m not involved with Jason."

She saw his unwillingness to cooperate by the slight narrowing of his eyes. "You can rest assured that I am not going to break up your brother, Jason and Kelly." Jillian glanced back out the window and took a sip from her drink. "And my plan is none of your concern."

She jumped when she felt Derek’s hand on her shoulder. "What is it you’re afraid of?"

Jillian turned and pushed past him. She didn’t want nor need his sympathy. Out of space with the door in front of her, she pivoted on the heels of her Nikes. "I’m not afraid of anything. I know what I want and I have come up with a plan to get it."

Have an awesome day,
