Spice It Up - A Preview of September's Post

Coming up with better ways to keep the magic alive in a relationship is hard work. Some times we don't have the energy or the time to deal with keeping the romance going.

Hey, we have a job, kids, family, and responsibilities. You’re working as hard as you can to just get through the day, much less worry about an exciting sex life.

I couldn’t agree more, but it doesn’t have to be a big production. Little changes in your routine can reap rewards. Remembering to kiss your lover the moment you see them is a small task and one that shows you care.

Making the coffee, a glance to show you find them sexy, a slid of the hand over your lover’s back when they’re struggling to do something. Small touches.

Spicing it up are the little things you do which take but a moment and show that you care.

Have a fun filled day, full of love, joy and sex.

New Erotic Books from Crimson Moth

What’s a book without its cover? A bunch of words. Even the greatest of words fail in our visual world, without a wonderful cover. A catchy cover attracts readers. How many of us have picked up a book the first time, simply because of the cover. I know I have!

Crimson Moth artwork--from the genre headings on our website to our wondrous covers--is among the best to be found.

That said, here’s two of our upcoming covers. Along with the blurbs of course. So you can add them to your ‘to buy’ lists.

Releasing September 15, 2009

Fury of Fire: A Woman Scorned by Cricket Sawyer

Investigation into a fire of suspicious origin uncovers a cacophony of sinister manipulations; arson to murder. Trails as intricate as a spider’s web weave throughout the story of FURY OF FIRE and there is nothing worse than A WOMAN SCORNED that creates tension as hot as a Colorado wild fire at Thunder Ridge Mobile Home Park high up in the La Platta Mountains of Durango, Colorado.

Stranded without a ride home on a stormy night, Chalina abandons rational thinking to accept help from a hotter-than-hell-looking biker. Little does Chalina know she’s about to fall passionately in love with a vampire who has been summoned to lead a new motorcycle pack. Ryker gives her more than just a ride home…he takes her on a sexual journey that changes her life forever.

Answers from an Editor at Crimson Moth

Does the world really need another new publisher of erotic fiction? Maybe. Maybe not. However, as an imprint of well-established epublisher, Wings ePress, Inc., Crimson Moth has a successful base of operations and a knowledgeable and experienced staff. We’re not exactly new!

Already a publisher of highly sensual fiction, it was easy for Wings to take that next step. TA DAH… Crimson Moth Erotic Romances.

Anita asked me what makes Crimson Moth different from other publishers. This is a surprisingly difficult question to answer. We’re looking for great, well-told stories. These stories need to include explicit sexual encounters that titillate the readers as well as the story people.

One difference at Crimson Moth is that we join a small group of publishers with the following policy. Our tales are about one woman and one man in a monogamous, committed relationship. We acknowledge erotic tales including multiple and/or same sex partners, but don’t feel qualified to publish them at this time.

Other than that, we’re looking for HOT ROMANCE! Highly sensual stories with great characters a reader will identify with and love, Plot driven tales, filled with building passion and great sex. While romance is our primary focus, sex scenes should flow naturally with the story as the characters’ relationship grows. No sex for the sake of sex. Satisfy the reader with a happy ending--which may not be a happy ever after, but definitely the promise of one.

And how could I leave today without a couple of tips for you. Here’s a basic tip that I know you already understand. Read and follow the submission guidelines at www.crimsonmoth.com . That and your excellently written tale are the best ways to impress our editors.

Secondly--write a story with characters YOU love, who give you shivers (or more!)of delight and make you want to run out and find the lover of your dreams.

Now, that’s a successful story!

Thank you Lizzie for your inside,

More about Crimson Moth

I talked to a friend of mine over at Crimson Moth.

Here's the scoop on what they are looking for.

In the wide open and exciting world of erotic publishing, Wings ePress’ erotic imprint, Crimson Moth, features highly sensual tales of monogamous, heterosexual couples. Well-written romance is our main focus. These stories need to take the characters and our readers beyond the sensual into HOT, loving relationships. No closed doors allowed. Don’t even leave them ajar. Let the reader see, feel, experience blazing, wicked sex--then leave ‘em panting for more!

Taboos? Yep, we have ‘em, and the short list can be found on our submissions guidelines page at www.crimsonmoth.com. There you’ll also find our specific requirements for the simple submission procedure and manuscript formatting. Never forget the importance of the foreplay needed to get you manuscript whipped into shape.

So much for generalities.

We’d love to see both novellas (up to 20,000 words) and novels (45,000 words and up). Novellas will be offered in ebook only, novels in both ebook and paper. We’ll be offering titles under two categories.

Flutter: Works that are both romantic and sexually explicit. Instead of flowery language, graphic terms are used for body parts and actions. Love scenes are explicit, but the overall feeling is more sensual.

Soar: Along with the use of more explicit language, these books will take the reader on a heightened erotic experience. The romance remains between one man and one woman although these tales may contain material some find objectionable: submission, forced seductions, sex toys, and light bondage (as long as both parties are willing).

Genre-wise--we’re into just about anything. Got a hot and heavy, dark paranormal? A tickle your funny bone (and elsewhere) contemporary comedy? A titillating tale that falls somewhere in between? We want to see them all! Follow the guidelines and there’s a room for everyone at Crimson Moth.

A room with a… view.

Thanks Lizzie for your help and tune in tomorrow for more about Crimson Moth

Finding Erotic Publishers

A number of publishers sell erotica, but usually it is found on a separate site.

Crimson Moth, part of the Wings EPress is a new publisher. They say the website will be up and running in September.

Might want to check it out because I'm sure they're looking for submissions.
