Egg-cerpt of Under His Wings

Under His Wings, a M/M/F menage love story by Anna Bayes

Blurb:

Bonnie thought Matt was everything she ever wanted: boyishly charming, understanding and exciting. Then she realized that he had another lover: Sean, an artistic, intensely jealous and handsome man. She tries, and fails to accept herself as the barely tolerated female lover. On New Year's Eve, she demands a meeting amongst the three. The confrontation sparks dangerous rage, and something else with an entirely different heat level: steamy desire. Can she bring about a reconciliation satisfactory to everyone involved as she surrenders to her passion?

Excerpt:

As I stood before my reflection in the mirror this morning, I tried to rehearse my request to Matt. I repeated it many times, looking into my eyes: the round, dark brown pupils returning my gaze unconvincingly. I shook my hair loose, and reasoned with myself again. If all Matt's talk about my importance is only empty words to keep me, then he is a lying bastard, and I am better off without him. I tried to say it aloud with conviction, but my voice betrayed me; I sounded like a frightened, disappointed little girl. I know logically that I can live without him, but loving him has become such an integral, necessary part of my life; I am not sure I could stop, even if we parted.

5 pm. Matt took my hand as I closed my shop early for the day, kissed it and buried it in the large pocket in his jacket. I love how my hand fits snugly in his; it is as if all my body parts have been tailor-made to suit him, and melt into him. I concentrated on staring at the toes of my boots, mustering up my courage, then I looked squarely into his eyes, and said, "I want Sean to meet me." I had initially practiced declaring in a crescendo, "I refuse to be hidden like an undignified whore. I am not a filler between Sean and other things in your life. I need him to acknowledge me as a person. I demand his respect," but this part of the speech became stuck in my throat. Matt looked at me, dumbfounded, until I almost started to believe that I had delivered my full speech, after all. Then he clenched his teeth, tightened his grip on my hand, and said, "Yes, you deserve better than this."

The taxi ride to his apartment was a blur. The original plan for tonight, it being New Year's Eve, had been that Matt would spend the early evening with me, then return home to Sean for dinner and to count down to 2013 over sizzling sex. Sean is not there when we arrive at the apartment, and we sit on the sofa to wait. Matt looks frighteningly dashing: his eyes blazing, his whole body tense, clearly deep in thought, preparing for something. He looks up as the sound of keys in the lock announces Sean's return. "Hey you..." Sean's lilting voice stops in its tracks as he opens the door wider and sees me seated next to his lover.

Anita's Reflections

Unrealistic Expectations

Funny, when we imagine our life after marriage, we sometimes image a life which is unrealistic.

Personally, I bought into the motto - Bring home the bacon, fry it up in the pan, and never ever let him forget he's a man.

Wrong, I couldn't do it. I was tired after work, and I didn't want to fix dinner. And well, if my husband wanted to remember he was a man, I'd let him take out the garbage.

That's fair. Right?

The point is, I couldn't live up to the picture of what I should be and what I should do.

My husband, the smarter of the two of us, understood and luckily convinced me he didn't want to live with a stressed out super woman.

So what expectations do you have?

Are they attainable, or are they only achievable in a perfect world?

Think about it, talk to your lover about it, revise the imagine in your head and come up with a better working picture.

What are some to the unrealistic ideas you had when you got married?

Do you know what it means?

If I had to guess I would say committing a sin and breaking a law at the same time.

But I'm wrong

Sinlaw according to the Urban Dictionary means

The parents of your live-in boyfriend/girlfriend.

Excerpt -

He followed the quick action of her fingers as she loosened her clothes. His blood raced through his veins in anticipation of viewing her luscious breasts. “And what animal do you usually change into?”

She tugged her blouse from the waistband of her skirt. “It varies. If I’m in a hurry, I usually chose a hawk or falcon and take to the sky. Otherwise, I might choose a coyote or jaguar so I can prowl a little on the way.”

When she dropped her shirt to the ground, he marveled at the creamy white swell of her breasts. The rosy tips drawn in tight peaks spoke not only of her arousal but the cool air surrounding them.

He automatically reached for her, but she avoided his touch by stepping back, then shoved her skirt down her legs. After shedding the multi-colored fabric, she wore only a pair of black, lace-up boots. “If you want to make it to my cabin before the light disappears, you better remove your clothes, too.”

The sight of her exquisite body held him prisoner. Full plump breasts lead to a narrow waist then widened into the round curve of her hips. The light bush between her legs revealed her natural blonde hair color. He smiled and grabbed her around the waist. “And what if I can’t wait until then to claim you?”

A sly grin kissed her lips before a tiny pop broke the silence between them. The smooth texture of her skin changed into the soft caress of feathers as she shrank. The tantalizing aroma of her transformation filled his loins with a barbaric thirst for sex.

A loud call pulled his gaze skyward as a hawk soared above his head. Words filtered through his head. Do you know the hawk’s waltz?

He recalled the mating rituals performed above the trees and envisioned the joy of flying.

After a small hop, he flapped his wings and raced after her. With their destination unknown to him, she quickly outdistanced him. He sped through the air and slowly closed the gap between them. Yes.

The wind rushing over his feathers fought to cool his carnivorous hunger, but the brief teasing fragrance of her lust continued to feed his desire. The sun, escaping the pursuit of the night beast, fell below the horizon. Red, yellow, and purple lights filled the evening sky.

Why flee? he called.

Her answer stroked his thoughts. Oh, but if you can’t catch me, what kind of pleasure could you really give me?

Inflamed by her words and the fire burning through his loins, he soared higher and charted the circles she drew beneath his flight’s course.

Marking her position, he took a steep dive through the center of her path and then moved in a sharp angle upwards. He repeated the maneuver several times, coming closer and closer to her until his wing brushed hers. On his climb back to the heavens, he grabbed her talons.

Interlock in a spiraling fall, her hoarse raspy cry echoed around him. The ache in his cock intensified. How much longer would she make him wait?

Here is a little of what they have to say

This is a second chance at love story with a paranormal twist involving a witch and shape-shifters. The characters were fairly well done and their emotions tugged at the reader’s heart. The obstacles they face are difficult, but with determination conquerable.

Couples that Play Together Stay Together

Read an interesting article on how men and women view dates differently.

Women tend to want conversation while men are happy doing an activity together.

I personally find this true. At the end of the day, I like to talk about my day share what happen and hear about what occurred in my husband's day. He, on the other hand, is happy sitting down with his tablet and watching TV.

For him a quiet evening at home is us sitting in the same room together. He's not alone. My mother and other women have complained of the same problem.

So what do we do?

Why try some other activities?

Like taking a class together,

golfing, hiking, or just stretching your boundaries and doing something fun.

So get out your sport shoes, ladies.

Then when you want to talk bring up an activity that you enjoy doing together.

My husband and I love to travel so when I'm in need of conversation. I start talking about where we want to go next and get into the planning mode.

Egg-cerpt for Black Dragon's Blood

Hi everyone,

I thought I would throw in an egg-cerpt of my first book for your enjoyment.

Excerpt:

William blocked her path before she could take more than two additional steps; a gift of his blood to be able to react so quickly.

Her curse was to smell his heat, to know his need, to want him inside her, making her blood boil. Luckily, the human part of her nature controlled her actions, reminded her of past heartache.

"A woman with your level of dragon blood needs a man, needs to have his children." His strong hand circled her forearm. She sensed the heavy pulse of his blood beating against her tender skin.

"Not a possibility, William, even if I did agree to marry you." She tugged her arm from his grasp. "I’ve been married twice. In neither case did I have a child. With you, it would be no different."

His eyes narrowed to slits. "Are you telling me you’re unable to bear children?"

"You’re an intelligent man, William. What do you think?"

"Your father didn’t tell me this."

"Yes, well, why would he? It would have been counterproductive to his plan, wouldn’t it?" The angry tightening of his jaw told Amanda she’d gained her freedom.

Stepping around him, she slid the door open on the metal railing and stood for a moment staring at his back. Other more pressing business required her attention. If she was lucky, she could get home, pack and get out of town before William picked up her trail again.

"Good luck finding some other lady to meet your needs, William."

Egg-cerpt from Summer's Growth

Family Tree Club series
Keeper of Winston Manor
Advised by spirits
Carving out a future.

Prologue to Summer's GrowthBlurb:
Forced by the family spirits to get a life, Mattie Winston has to train her replacement Amber Harrison to be in charge of all the workings of the Winston estate. Reluctant to make changes in her life, Mattie forms a bond with Amber, when strange accidents start happening which threaten their lives and an unknown ghost makes an appearance.

After being rescued by an old flame, Quincy Miller, Mattie faces old wounds of rejection. As the general contractor for Amber’s redecoration project, Mattie is in constant contact with Quincy and realizes she still in love with her childhood sweetheart.

Amber, learning her new role in the family, wants to discover the identity of the ghost who keeps appearing. After several appearances, Gwen, Amber’s distance grandmother, shifts the book into more of Amber’s struggle to find out why her grandmother disappeared two hundred years ago without a trace. In a fight to claim her position in the family, Amber searches for clues to solve the mystery.

Mattie and Amber are both challenged when the family spirits decides Amber shouldn’t be the keeper. Battling for Amber, Mattie realizes she wants a life with Quincy outside the Winston estate.

Amber realized the importance of her new spiritual family, and she works to discover how Gwen died.

Can these two women achieve their goals?

“No reason for her to stay bottled up in the house with an old maid like me,” Mattie grumbled.

Alone and feeling sorry for herself, she stared at the cold ashes in the fireplace, a black mess with no hope of burning again. Just like her life. Once Amber assumed the job of keeper, she’d be free to do anything she wanted.

The sound of a car in the driveway alerted Mattie. “Amber must have forgotten something.” She walked out of the study on her way to the front door.

Surprised by the sight of Quincy coming up the stoop with bags in his hands, she leaned against the doorjamb. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach.

“I thought you might be hungry.” His winning grin prevented any objection she might have had.

Flustered, she sputtered, “But—”

“You said you didn’t want to go out, so I brought dinner in.” Not pausing, Quincy pushed his way past her.

His reasoning seemed logical, but Mattie wasn’t sure of his true intentions. She rushed to catch up. “Quincy, you really didn’t have to do this.”

“Sure, I did. I invited you to dinner, didn’t I?” he said over his shoulder on his way to the kitchen.

She longed to tell him to leave, but she couldn’t. Not after he’d gone to so much trouble to bring her dinner. His thoughtfulness disarmed her, weakened her knees as well as her resolve.

“I hope you’re hungry.” He pulled a rotisserie chicken and potato salad from a bag. “I even have dessert.”

From another one, he unearthed a pie and showed her the label. “Apple pie and,” putting down the pie, he reached back in, “ice cream.”

Delighted, Mattie squelched her giddiness by protesting against his efforts. “Quincy, you shouldn’t have gone to so much trouble. I planned on having a sandwich for dinner.”

Heedless of her words, he stashed the ice cream in the freezer and retrieved one more item from a different bag. “And these are for letting me have dinner with you.”

Quincy held out a bouquet of deep red roses, catching her completely off guard. Shocked appreciation snatched her breath away. Hands shaking, heart quaking, she stood rooted to the floor. She didn’t know how to handle this situation. No one had ever given her flowers before.

Mattie clasped the roses to her chest, mesmerized by their beauty. “Thank you, Quincy.”

Not releasing his hold, he stared into her eyes.

She couldn’t help but yield to the powerful forces between them, and swayed into his arms. Enclosed in his warm male strength, she trembled.

He ran his hand along her spine and slowly leaned closer.

She waited, expecting the soft caress of his lips on hers. At the last moment, he diverted his kiss and his lips brushed her forehead instead.

Stunned, she could only stare.

“Mattie, I’m trying not to rush you and take it slow, but I won’t deny I want you in every way a man could want a woman. So for now I need you to promise me something.”

Lost in the velvet warmth of his eyes, she knew she’d promise him anything. She placed her hand on his chest and breathlessly asked, “What kind of promise?”

Frost - A New Book by Taryn Kincaid

FROST
by Taryn Kincaid

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Dagney Night, a sought-after succubus, is no stranger to blazing hot sex. But as Valentine’s Day approaches, she longs for something more. When oddly erotic paintings arrive for display at her art gallery, arousing everyone who views them, she wonders about the mysterious artist who created the works.
Maxwell Raines, a fire-sex demon, lives a life of solitude and seclusion behind the walls of his compound at Sleepy Hollow, channeling his lustful impulses into his art—until his muse deserts him and his temperature rises past the danger point. He needs sex. Now.
When Madame Evangeline arranges a torrid Valentine’s 1Night Stand for them, will the flames of their encounter be too hot to handle?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EXCERPT:

Dagney followed her sister’s glance, and her heart flipped like a gymnast unable to nail a vault. Darkness swathed the gallery with the exception of the lights above or below each of the paintings. The large man emerging from the shadows held her rapt. Waves of pure, unadulterated lust smacked her with such force she didn’t even see Lily and Campbell leave. The blast of raw desire crumpled her to the floor. Her gaze remained riveted on the tall hunk of ferocious male stalking toward her, radiating undiluted carnality. He set something carefully on the floor and grasped her by the elbows, his touch surprisingly gentle when he lifted her to her feet.

“I’m Maxwell Raines.”

Yeah. No kidding. Who else could a guy so hot, so studly, possibly be?

She told herself not to swoon. Ordered herself not to swoon. But, Goddess, that rumbling voice. More potent than a train barreling over the tracks. And he smelled so good. Sinfully masculine. A bit of musk, a bite of pine, an essence of dark, smoky nights. Sexy scents. Reminiscent of tangled satin sheets that had been given a good work-out.

Her legs turned to rubber, and she doubted they’d support her on their own. She’d be mortified if he’d have to scrape her puddled body up again. But he hadn’t yet relaxed his grip. Could she bullshit her way through the meeting without collapsing? “You’re late,” she said.

“I’m never late.”

“Well, the party’s over, Mr. Raines.” She waved a hand around the empty room.

“Depends on your perspective.”

“You’re big on perspective, are you?”

“I’m a painter.” A brief shrug accompanied his blunt words. “Obvious connection.”

“Right. But as you can see, everyone’s left.”

“You haven’t.” He gazed down at her, a black brow flaring. “And you’re what I’m here for.”

How to Strike Out on Valentine's Day

- take her to a hockey game (unless the lady asked for this, most women would prefer some alone time with their lover.)

- tell her you aren't ready for anything serious. (candy, flowers, and sweet promises equal a lifetime together, not a fast retreat.)

- sticking to the norm (a dozen roses and a box of chocolates.)

Yeah, I did my duty, what else does the girl what?

Something different.

Something to make her think you put some thought into her gift.

- finally, forgetting the holiday altogether is a guaranteed way to strike out.

Remember, it doesn't have to be much. You're lover knows you too, and if you aren't into gifts, at least remember to wish her a Happy Valentine's Day and tell her you love her.

Hope this helps,

Anita

Is Fighting Part of the Fun?

"No matter how much cats fight, there always seem to be plenty of kittens."

Abraham Lincoln

So how about a little fantasy of going a few rounds with your lover?

I'm not encouraging a fight where anyone gets hurt. In the contest I'm suggesting, both parties win.

If you've ever watched a wrestling match, it's hard not to imagine how much fun it could be to try out the positions with your lover.

Lay down the rules before you get starts so no one gets hurt, then see how much fun you can have rolling around on the floor with your partner.

Whoever lays on top, it doesn't matter. You both can win.

Remember to have fun with your lover this weekend, Valentines' Day is just around the corner.

Anita's Review for The Boudoir Sessions

Starla Cole started taking naughty pictures back when we still developed our secret images under red lights in darkrooms. After photographing hundreds of boudoir clients, she realized that each of those pictures were indeed worth a thousand words, and began writing erotica as a way of imagining what might could happen between consenting adults when the camera stops clicking and the lights go down.

The Boudoir Sessions is her first series of erotic shorts. Watch for more work from Starla at her web site: http://starlacole.blogspot.com

The Boudoir Sessions:
Erotic Romance in the Photo Studio
by Starla Cole
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
The Boudoir Sessions is a series of erotic short stories that follow the sexual misadventures of Syria, a boudoir photographer in New Mexico.
Syria meets Tyson, a romantic Santa stripper, who turns her on to a whole new alternative lifestyle through photo shoots with live sex show performers, body contortionists, and experts in Japanese bondage. But even as Syria experiments at Tyson’s suggestion, the couple begins to realize the relationship between them that began as a dalliance is proving to be something much more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Excerpt -
Mia was so close that Syria could smell everything, a floral lotion, her shampoo, then something else, musky and warm. "Ignore the pirate brute." Mia tugged Syria’s sweater up and away.

"Mmm, nice," Sam said.

"Agreed." Mia slid her hands along the thin web of Syria's bra. "Gorgeous." She reached behind Syria for the hooks. "May I?"

Syria nodded. Mia's skin pressed against hers in several hot places, a breast against her shoulder, another tantalizing close to her cheek.

The bra loosened, falling off her shoulders. "Lovely," Mia said, tugging it away. She had none of Syria's inhibitions.

Syria could not stifle her gasp. Mia was so different, her lips softer than men's, always so much firmer and demanding. Mia's were feather light, tugging gently, small teeth nipping at the tip.

"One for me?" Sam asked. He leaned forward, and Syria reveled in the difference. Sam's cheek stubble was rough on the tender skin, while Mia was smooth and soft.

"Oh, man," she breathed. She'd never been so completely overwhelmed by an experience. Sam wrapped an arm around her hips and pulled her legs forward, pressing her down on her back. "Shall we look at more of this fair lass?" he asked Mia.

"If she be willing." Mia moved up for a kiss. Her lips were just as yielding there, forming the question against Syria's mouth. "Are you?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Starla has opted to make the third story in this anthology free during her tour. Would you please add that info to your post?
It will be free from Feb. 4-9 so check it out.
Starla will be awarding a $25 Amazon Gift Card to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour.
