Blurb:

She plans to enjoy grandchildren and friends until her doctor tells her he found a lump in her breast. Her world turned upside down. She re-evaluates her priorities and decides she grab hold of life with both hands.
Knox Turner lost is first wife to cancer. He’s determined not to let Marianne face this challenge alone.

Can this couple face the trails ahead and build a future together?

Excerpt:
“Wait—”

“Marianne, what are you doing here?” Sylvia Wilshire stood in the middle of the hallway. Tall and slender, she offered a radiant smile and brushed a wayward hand through her dark auburn hair. As beautiful as ever, Marianne couldn’t help but marvel at how her friend had changed in the last two years. She’d lost over a hundred pounds and had married Vince Wilshire. He also happened to be like both of their deceased husbands, an executive for Knox.

Sylvia strolled forward with the grace of a model, her green-eyed gaze full of curiosity. “I just drop by to talk to Vince for a minute.”

The man in question walked through the doorway of another office. He winked at Marianne and slid an arm around Sylvia’s shoulder. “It looks like these two beauties are keeping us from our conference call.”

“Damn,” Knox groaned and checked his watch. “We better get in there before Foster has a cow because we’re late.”

Marianne stepped aside to give him room to walk around her.

He paused next to her and glared. “I’ll call you later, and we’ll work out a time for us to get together.”

Tempted to disagree with his plan, she proposed instead, “As long as it doesn’t interfere with my other social plans.”

He groaned and dropped a kiss on her cheek. “Someday I’m going to be the first and last thing you see every day. Then your activity calendar won’t matter.”

She lifted her hand ready to point out he shouldn’t say things like that to her in front of their friends. “Knox—”

Vince tugged on Knox’s arm and interrupted, “Come on, buddy before you get yourself in more trouble than you can get out of.”

Staking a Claim by Devon McKay #RomanticTravel #Excerpt

My romantic getaway would be Alaska. I lived there for 27 years and have yet to find a more beautiful place, which is one of the reasons I wrote Staking A Claim.

Author Bio:
Devon McKay writes contemporary romance with a western flair. If she's not writing, she's busy with chores on her small ranch, working on a stained glass project or walking one of her three dogs through the woods. Her greatest joy is putting a smile on a readers face and hearing from fans.

Book Title:        Staking A Claim
Blurb:
For most people, seeing Alaska is a dream come true. For Miami Beach resident, Samantha Held, it is merely a job assignment. Creating an advertisement for vacationing in the state gets her one step closer to achieving her career goal—partnership in Kolinsky’s Advertisement Agency.
Blake Langford is not willing to accept any exploitation of his beloved state, no matter how desirable the striking, southern blonde bombshell with fiery green eyes is, and he’s determined to sabotage Sam’s goal in every way. Falling in love with the enemy, however, was never part of the plan.

Excerpt:
Fuming, Sam held his gaze as she considered his offer. She couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to be dropped into her lap. She could learn everything she needed to know about Alaska and have a handsome, but overly protective, guide of the state to show her. Not to mention what his knowledge could do for the brochure.
It would also mean more time in his temperamental company.
Sam considered her options. She had gotten lucky finding Carlton Landing, but what about locating her elusive hotel? As proven last night, it was more than evident she couldn’t even read a map correctly. So, what real choice did she have?
She pictured her new office…the view of the ocean…the partnership. She was willing to take the chance. Besides, she’d never been the kind of girl who shied away from a challenge. Hell, so far, her life had been a series of challenges.
“It’s a deal.” Her voice came off cool and professional despite the quickening of her heartbeat. She offered her hand to shake on the agreement. “We haven’t officially met. Samantha Held. I go by Sam.”
“Blake Langford.” He extended his, grasping her hand and repeating the name she already knew by heart. He held onto her grasp for a minute longer than necessary. “I go by Wolf.”
Again, the breathtaking grin resurfaced, and an odd pulsation spiked through Sam, leaving her insides quivering like a bowl of gelatin as she second guessed her decision.
What kind of fool makes a deal with a man called Wolf?

Bella's Band by Alina K. Field #RomanticTravel #romance

My favorite romantic getaway is Prescott, Arizona. I love checking into a vintage hotel like the St. Michael’s or the Hassayampa and sipping a drink at the same saloon frequented by Wyatt Earp.

Blurb for Bella’s Band:
Bullets, blades, and incendiary bombs—Major Steven Beauverde, the latest Earl of Hackwell, belongs in that world, and is determined to get back to it. His brother’s murder has forced Steven into a new and completely unwanted role, and worse, he has no idea how to salvage his family’s depleted estate. A rumor that his brother had a son by a woman who may be a) the murderer, and b) his brother’s secret wife, sets Steven on a mission to find her, the boy, and—Steven ardently hopes—the proof of a marriage that will set him free.

Confirmed spinster Annabelle Harris is a country heiress with a penchant for taking in orphans and helping the downtrodden. Her philanthropy hides her desperate search for her disgraced sister, the mistress to the Earl of Hackwell. When the Earl is murdered, her sister thrusts her child into Annabelle’s care and disappears. Now, with suspicion pointing at the sister, Annabelle has begun a new quest, to find the woman, and clear her name.

When their paths converge, the reluctant Earl and the independent spinster find themselves rethinking their goals, and battling the real murderer together.

Excerpt
She felt his eyes fixed on her. He drew her head closer and she could smell his woodsy clean scent, so intensely male. The carriage passed by a street lamp and into a dark stretch, and she could no longer discern the outline of his face.
Her heart tingled and her breath came in short little huffs of anticipated pleasure.
“Annabelle,” he whispered. “What do they call you? Anna? Belle?”
She tensed remembering her chat with Lady Rosalyn.
“It is Belle. How very appropriate.” He kissed her hand.
“Bella,” she whispered. “And not appropriate at all. How did you learn my name?”
“Bella.” He breathed her name in a brandy-laced murmur. “The maid at the Harley Street house gave me your last name. And by the way, she worships you.”
Dear Trish. Annabelle pushed at the seat and squirmed, with no success. He still held her fast.
“I’ve found that servants know everything and talk prodigiously.” He dropped a kiss on her nose.
Annabelle bit back a disagreement and stilled. In a properly run household, gossip was squashed. The poor man had never lived in a properly run household.
His lips hovered over her and she waited. He’d kissed her nose. Perhaps he’d been aiming for her mouth and missed. She wanted one more kiss. She would be safe. In a carriage on a public street, he wouldn’t attempt to take more.
***
Steven held himself an inch away from her lips. Her nose had been cold, but heat radiated between them, holding them in a warm cocoon. She smelled of plain soap and faint lavender. There was nothing cloying about Miss Harris. He’d breached a line of defense with the use of the pet name. Bella. She wanted him to kiss her.
Not yet. Not yet. She was lovely, and innocent, and perfect. He was known for his quick thinking under duress, and he’d made up his mind. He would do this honorably. He was not his brother. It would not be a seduction.
“Bella, you are right that we should dispense with the dance. You are right that we should speak to the point, and so I will. I think you and I, we should wed.”
“What?” She jumped a full inch from the seat before settling back.

Vicki Pinder in the #RomanticTravel Exchange

Dear Reader,

I have always loved stories with big families and lots of dramatic things that happen to them. I am a huge prime time fan and I can get sucked into a English translated telenovela fast. I have always wanted to write stories that implemented high drama with larger than life personalities. I’ve been working on the Morgan  family for over a year. I had to figure out this family and wonder what happens next that kept me surprised and interfered with the characters love life.

First I had to come up with the family and their background. The major villain in all the stories is the guy who died in chapter one of the first book, Mitch Morgan. He was the patriarch of this family.  What could a father do that kept all the children unhappy with everything in their lives that doesn’t involve physical abuse? (Emotional is in many ways more interesting for a villain.)

The possibilities were endless. Then what happened to the mother of the children? How would adult children in this super billionaire family be if the father was as awful as I realized Mitch was? In the first book John Morgan had joined the FBI simply to find evidence that might put his father in jail and how does he act when he failed at this mission.

I had to know and I had to learn who all the Morgans were and I hope all my readers find this family as fascinating as I do.  Inside the House of Morgan, anything might happen.

Once this was done, I had to pick where this super rich family might live. The setting is also another character in many ways. If I chose New York then it’s relating back to the Gilded Age but also has a big city, capital of business feel. I choice Miami because it’s still the US, has a more vacation setting, and the tropics just somehow make drama more exciting.

For vacations though, I recommend Key West. You can drive down from Miami onto the islands, but it feels like a vacation. You can see Hemingway’s house with many cats, Cuba on a clear day, and bicycle your way to the little White House. It’s absolutely breath taking and a romantic way to spend your vacation.

Secret Crush: The House of Morgan

For some, joining the FBI is a long-term goal. For billionaire John Morgan, joining the Bureau is a stepping stone to proving his father is culpable for his sister’s death. After his estranged father dies, John is forced to return home and face the ghosts of his past. That proves to be more difficult than he could have ever imagined.

Alice Collins lives a peaceful life. As a farmer’s daughter, she knows what it’s like to work hard for what you want. After losing her best friend under inexplicable circumstances, her world viewpoint shifted until her small town sensibilities convinced her to attend Mr. Morgan’s funeral.

Soon, the past and the present collide and Alice is caught in the crosshairs. John comes to her aid, complicating matters for both of them.

Can a handsome billionaire on a vendetta truly fall for a small town girl or does he have something else in mind? Can a small town girl, if she gives her heart to him, ever fit of the House of Morgan?

Short Blurb:
John leaned against the wall and let the throngs of people pass. Alice followed suit, standing next to him as she sipped her wine. "I assumed he was taking over. Did you want that job?"
John's entire body jumped as if she'd slapped him. "Hell no."
She gulped her sip fast. She kept saying the wrong thing. Inside his blue eyes was a kaleidoscope of emotion. Alice remembered that he used to be kind. She rubbed her lips together. "Then who cares?"
He drank his wine and scanned the room. After making the rounds with his gaze, he took in her entire figure with an intensity that made her knees weak. "What is it you do, Alice?"
"Collins Organic Farm." She brushed her brown bob behind her ear. "I work for my family. What is it you do?"
Again, his blue eyes flashed as if lightning was in his stare. She watched him, hypnotized. "I work in real estate."
"Liar." She tilted her head. He definitely didn't work in real estate. She crossed her arm around her chest. Without another word, she waited for the fallout of her remark.
His eyebrows quirked in shock. Then his dimples appeared. "What do you think I do?"
She met his smile with her own. "Professional bad boy and poker player. It's what I always thought."
He chuckled. "I played football."
She nodded. A moment of silence clung in the air as she sipped her drink. Then she said, "I went to your games in high school, but I also remember how you set up more than a few poker games. You always read people correctly."
His sexy smile lit the room and her skin melted, literally fused into itself. "I remember that. You cheered with my sister, and I played you, too."

Author Bio:
Victoria Pinder grew up in Irish Catholic Boston before moving to the Miami sun. She’s worked in engineering, after passing many tests proving how easy Math came to her. Then hating her life at the age of twenty four, she decided to go to law school. Four years later, after passing the bar and practicing very little, she realized that she hates the practice of law. She refused to one day turn 50 and realize she had nothing but her career and hours at a desk. After realizing she needed change, she became a high school teacher. Teaching is rewarding, but writing is a passion.

During all this time, she always wrote stories to entertain herself or calm down. Her parents are practical minded people demanding a job, and Victoria spent too many years living other people’s dreams, but when she sat down to see what skill she had that matched what she enjoyed doing, writing became so obvious. The middle school year book when someone wrote in it that one day she’d be a writer made sense when she turned thirty.

She’s always been determined. She is amazing, adventurous and assured on a regular basis. Her website is  www.victoriapinder.com .

Excerpt :
He wasn't asleep. He was standing in the middle of the room, exactly where she had stomped away from him, holding his belt in his right hand. Her eyes darted to the loosely hanging leather at his side and then his expression. Dark. Extremely dark. His lips were pursed his jaw set tight, and his eyes fixated on her with a sternness she hadn't believed him capable of until that moment.
"Uh-um." She stammered standing just outside the bathroom staring at his hand that was swinging the belt and casually tapping it against his leg. "Uh." What was wrong with her? Why couldn't she get a full word out, and why wasn't he saying anything?
"I think I've been pretty patient. I haven't demanded anything. I haven't encroached on your plans, have I?" His voice held steady, no tremor or indecisiveness to it.
She swallowed. "Well. No, not really."
"I haven't told you what to do, what to wear, where to go, anything like that?" He took one step toward her and her stomach twisted.
"Not really." She had to be honest. Other than his lines of questioning he hadn't really made her do anything. Other than making her leave her apartment, which she had to be honest, wasn't exactly the worst thing.
"Yet, when I try having a conversation about your health, your wellbeing—you feel it's respectful to blow me off and stomp away. Slamming doors." His tone didn't waiver, but the volume had lowered. She found herself holding the hem of her shirt with both hands, and twisting the fabric with her fingers.
"Not when you say it that way," She tried a smile, a little humor. It didn't faze him or deter him, he took another step toward her. He wasn't wearing his suit jacket anymore, she noticed. His button down shirt that was neatly tucked into his beltless slacks had been rolled up at the sleeves. She wanted to bolt back into the bathroom but her feet were being entirely too uncooperative. "Alex." She sighed. "I'm sorry. I told you. I'm not good at this." His raised eyebrow told her it might not have been the best tactic.
"Good at what? Being respectful?" The slapping of the belt against this leg became more intense.
"The full time submissive thing. I'm not good at it. I told you that." She really wished he wouldn't take another step. One more and he'd be within touching distance and since her feet still wouldn't obey her, she was sure he'd grab her.
"When we talked about us becoming a couple, us doing this, I told you I would help you with that." He reminded her with a calm in his voice. He looked upset yes, irritated even, but not angry. Not out of control anger. She knew he was in complete control of himself, and even her with the way he kept looking at her. It was as if running wasn't an option, her feet understood that before her brain did, apparently. The bastards.
"Well, yes. I remember." Her answer came softly. He had said that, and she had agreed. She had always enjoyed the submissive side of herself. Not just sexually. She'd had enough play time at the dungeons to know she loved the kiss of the flogger, but it was when the scene ended that the real cravings began. She'd seen couples at the parties, even at Top Floor. The caring between the partners, the love, and respect the dominants showed their subs, and it was reciprocated. That's what she craved. The dominance that continued after the flogging.
And here it stood. Right in front of her holding a leather belt.
"Have you ever been spanked, for punishment?" He asked, not moving toward her any more.

Author Questions

So first, of course, the obvious question. How did you become a writer? I’ve been doing it since I was a little kid. I didn’t really think anything of it until my mom pointed it out to me much later.  In Junior High we had to write a short story for the open house, and all the other kid’s stories were one page, a few paragraphs, mine was the only one that took two pages and had dialogue and everything. She knew then I was going to be a writer. When she told me that story, I figured, hey, she’s right!  Silly, that I needed someone else to say it in order for me to know it, but writing stories was just something I did for fun, to entertain myself.

Are you working on a new book right now? Yes. I’m working on a dark erotic romance. My first ever, and it’s terrifying to write because it pulls me out of my comfort zone of completely consensual spankings, and sexual encounters. On the other hand, it’s completely hot and exciting, so it’s a daily roller coaster ride.

How much of the book is realistic? Hopefully, all of it.  With this series, I tried to convey as true of a BDSM relationship as I could.  People make mistakes, ego’s get in the way, and being in a BDSM relationship doesn’t change that- but how those issues are worked out is what’s different.  There’s a lot of love and trust that goes into a BDSM relationship, and I wanted to convey that with this series. It’s not all red rooms and tainted pasts.

What book are you reading now? I’m reading 3 books right now.

Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.  Blushing Authors have been a huge help, especially with this release. Everyone is so helpful and genuine. It’s been a great experience and hopefully the first of many.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing? I still have a day job, but in the off hours, if I’m not writing, or thinking about writing, I’m usually curled up with a book. If my kids happen to actually be home instead of off playing with friends, we’ll spend time together watching old sitcoms on Netflix, or having a family game night.

Does Prince Charming exist? Yes! Everyone’s version of what he looks like is different, but he’s out there.  For some, he’s an Alpha male that won’t give an inch and is unreasonably strict, to other’s he writes poetry and sings her sonnets- and anything in between. I lean toward the relentless Alpha myself, and have been lucky in that department.

Which body part would you choose to get a tattoo done? I celebrated my first book with Blushing Books by getting a tattoo of a heart on my right wrist.  I’m planning to get two more, another heart design on my ankle, and one on the top of my foot the words “Happily Ever After”.

The furthest I have traveled was to: Germany. My husband was in the Army when we married and was stationed in Darmstadt, Germany. It was a great time, even though I was far away from family and friends. I was sad to hear the base has been shut down since then.

Do you like your handwriting? Absolutely not!  My father always called it chicken scratch, and I have to agree. It’s horrible. I have a love/hate feeling when someone asks me to sign their book, because it’s just so bad.
