Add Energy to Your Day

Think positively - The world is a negative place. Everyday we are bombard with bad news. If it effects you in a bad way, try to avoid it by not watching the news. Instead, look out side at the sunshine and blue sky, know you are a wonderful world where anything is possible. Create positive thoughts about yourself and others.

Be motivated - as a writer the task of writing is daunting-- all those words, correct grammar, spelling, plotting, characterization. Forget it and just think about the task ahead, believe you can do it and you will. One step at a time will get you there.

Be confident - Hey, you written a book before you can do it again. If you haven't done it before, use that as motivation to prove to yourself you can do. If you believe you do and work toward the goal, you will achieve your objective.

Exercise Tip - Stuck in a Rut

Experts will tell you that to get the most out of your workout you need to change things up.

But to be honest, you can do too much change and not want to workout at all.

Like changing time, place and the people you workout with. The thing that keeps me on track is getting in a rut so I know when, where, and with who I'm working out with. The exercise program, I do I'm familiar with and know most of the moves. Okay, I might add a new move occasionally, but if I do too many changes at once I find I just don't enjoy it as much.

So am I getting the most out of my workout? Maybe not, but I am still working out which is better than sitting on the couch eating cookies.

Here's to me for getting in a rut -- it helps keep me in shape.

Lift your water bottle and join me.

Just Show Up - Exercise Tip

Working out on your own can some time be a challenge. That's why I enjoy taking classes, because you feel you've paid for the class so you have to show up.

Reward yourself for making the effort to show up.

My conversation to myself.
"Hey, I showed up so I only have to do twenty minutes on the treadmill."

While on the treadmill.... "Well, I'm so close to reaching a mile in a half I'll go a little longer."

"Well, okay, I didn't do the treadmill, why don't I look at the weights since I'm here."

Before you know it you've discovered something new and still go in your workout.

Remember also to have fun.

Need a Little Romance

"Romance does not just happen... it is a state of mind, not a single action or event. It is an attitude of love, tenderness, and preference that needs to be daily reinforced."

The Drink in Crazy Stupid Love

An Old Fashioned is made from 2 oz. bourbon or rye whiskey, 1 teaspoon simple syrup or 1 sugar cube, and 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters.
If using a sugar cube, mash it in the bottom of an Old Fashioned glass with the bitters and 1 teaspoon of water. Add the ice, then the whiskey, and stir. Garnish with an orange wheel and a cherry.
The Old Fashioned is generally thought to be one of the original cocktails dating back to the 1800s.

Exercise Tip

Don't exercise --- Play.

If you just sit in front of the tv with the ball and do different stretching games with it. Then you are getting some benefits without feeling as if you spent hours at the gym.

It make not do as much for you as a thirty minute workout, but isn't it better than nothing.

Try it and yeah, you can even just roll it back and forth between you and your lover. It might spark some other kind of fun.

Have a great day,

Tip for Exercising

The holidays have followed you into the spring and now threatened to ruin your summer.

Guess, it's time to get moving. I'm sure you've heard all the tips.

  1. Find a buddy to workout with (Right, so we can share the pain.)
  2. Pick an activity you enjoy. (Going out to eat sounds like fun.)
  3. Be consistent. (Workout while still asleep then maybe you won't remember how much you hate it.)
Okay, so I don't like exercising anymore than the rest of you. But I do it. Not for my lover, but for myself. Remember, you want this for you, and it might make getting out of bed to workout just a little easier.

Here's a fist pump for you. One...anyone want to join me.

Tour for Shadow on the Wall

SHADOW ON THE WALL
By
Pavarti K. Tyler

BLURB:   Recai Osman: Muslim, philosopher, billionaire and Superhero?

Controversial and daring, Shadow on the Wall details the transformation of Recai Osman from complicated man to Superhero. Forced to witness the cruelty of the Morality Police in his home city of Elih, Turkey, Recai is called upon by the power of the desert to be the vehicle of change. Does he have the strength to answer Allah's call or will his dark past and self doubt stand in his way?

Pulling on his faith in Allah, the friendship of a Jewish father-figure and a deeply held belief that his people deserve better, Recai Osman must become The SandStorm.

In the tradition of books by Margaret Atwood and Salman Rushdie, Shadow on the Wall tackles issues of religion, gender, corruption and the basic human condition. Beautiful and challenging, this is not a book to miss.

Excerpt #2
            Knock. Just one solid sound.
Recai sat up too quickly and fell back against his mattress gasping as Rebekah stuck her head into his small room, her face creased with worry and fear.
“Cover yourself and stay silent,” she whispered before closing the door and rushing back into the living room to retrieve her burqa and open the door. Recai heard the movement of the heavy fabric she wore on top of her house dress as she moved across the room to greet their visitor. He wondered if she had retrieved her father’s gun which he’d overheard Hasad say was under the couch in the living room.
Before hiding beneath the thin sheet that covered him, he reached down and pulled the rug from the floor and threw it across his legs. He covered his head and melted against the wall with the pillow on top of his upper body. Feeling foolish, Recai laid there, wishing he had his ID, his phone, anything to help bribe his way out of this situation if it was indeed the RTK at the door.
Perhaps it’s just a neighbor, he thought. A neighbor come to ask after Rebekah’s father’s health or to borrow some salt. His attempt at rationalizing the unexpected visit did not quell his fears. The RTK made a habit of performing home inspections, especially if they suspected a woman alone. It wasn’t a safe time for anyone under the jurisdiction of Mayor Yilmaz.
