Stormy by @AuthorTinaGayle #babyboomers #Romance #SecondChance

Now available at

Blurb – Can friends become lovers? Even after the age of forty?

He’s wife is dead. She’s divorce with adult children.

For two years, Daniel and Karen have consoled each other during the trails of losing their spouses. Now, they are ready to turn their friendship into a loving relationship. After sharing a night of passion, all appears golden for a bright future for Karen and Daniel until she receives a call from her children saying her ex has had a heart attack.

Torn between, her need to support her children and her desire to be with Daniel, Karen leaves him and flees to the hospital. Coming face to face with  her ex-husband’s new, trophy wife, Karen begins to question exactly why her marriage fell apart. Was she to blame, and if so, should she try again?

On the outside looking in, Daniel must now convince Karen to let go of her past mistake and share a future with him?

Excerpt:

“Damn, Daniel, where are you?” Karen Barr glanced at her cell phone, hoping to see a message from him. She’d called him before she left her apartment, texted him from the station where she stopped for gas, and had even pulled off the highway a time or two in her attempt to reach him.
Nothing.
Had he changed his mind about this weekend?
Or was the bad weather interfering with his cell phone signal?
As if in answer to her question, the pounding rain increased, pouring water from the sky like an overflowing faucet. The windshield wipers worked in a quick pulsating rhythm. Nevertheless, they still didn’t achieve the task of improving visibility.
Karen flipped the switch to increase the speed and stared at the road ahead. The weatherman had predicted a storm tonight, and for once when she wanted him to be wrong, he was right.
How much farther did she have to go?
The turn off for Daniel’s cabin couldn’t be too far away. She’d caught sight of the old, red barn off to the left a few miles back, so the dirt lane to Daniel’s place had to be close.
She slowed the car, crawling along at a snail’s pace so as not to miss the path. Her headlights reflected off something metallic. She read the weathered sign. Happy.
The outdated tune of “Happy Trails to You” played through her head. Daniel had sung the song the first time he’d brought her here. He said it’d help her remember the way back.
Right, and where the hell was he?
Karen checked her cell phone again, and silently prayed he wasn’t lying in a muddy ditch somewhere. Hopefully, he had simply forgotten to recharge his phone, a particularly annoying habit he seemed to have.
“Damn it, Daniel, when I find you I...”
She didn’t exactly know what she’d do... kiss him?
Pictures of him flashed in her head... his sexy smile, his curly, dark hair with a touch of gray at his temples... the broad width of his shoulders, his trim physique... the round curve of his ass.
“Shit, why do I put myself through this? The man doesn’t see me as anything other than a friend,” Karen grumbled and flipped her blinker on out of habit.
She steered the car onto Happy Trails. The huge trees resembled mighty sentinels. Standing guard along the edge of the road, they blocked the rain with their large limbs. Slowing to avoid the abundant potholes on the gravel path, she tightened her grip on the steering wheel and searched for the end of Daniel’s driveway.
The storm and lack of communication from him had stretched her patience to the breaking point. She longed to be at her final destination and out of the car. “I should’ve never accepted his invitation to spend the weekend with him at his cabin. He can’t let go of the past,” she muttered angrily.
Hell, after her divorce, she gave up everything, her husband of twenty-plus-years, her beautiful country manor home, her cushy job, and her high-society friends. All she’d wanted was a new start—freedom from the endless upper crust parties and social climbing leeches. Thankfully now, her individual concerns were merely for her kids and herself. The infinite hours spent on creating a prominent public image for Carl was in her ex-husband’s trophy wife’s hands.
Unfortunately, Daniel’s world had changed for a different reason. His wife’s death had hit him extremely hard. He’d barely been able to cope and had turned to Karen. They’d worked together for years, and he had no else. His family lived out of the state. She’d tried to help, and they’d grown closer. Now, she wanted even more from him. Could they bridge the gap from friends and become lovers?
The dim light shining up ahead drew her attention. She figured Daniel must have left the porch light on for her. Then why didn’t he return her calls?

Was it his way of keeping her from backing out?

Here's some of the reviews.

This was a sweet story and an easy read. I am actually a fan of Daniel because he seems to be a truly amazing man. You need distraction? Something that you can drown in and yet won't need weeks to get through This book absolutely is it! The steam is well written and amazing, the love scenes ultimately cute. Nice read, really.

Sweet story about new love with a widow and divorcee. I loved the development and implementation of their love and how it effects their life. Just because they are adults their new relationship is interrupted by life.

Sounds like a hot read,

EXCERPT 1 - PG
Thirty minutes later, she stood reaching for a potted vase sitting on the
top shelf in the showroom when the bell over the door pealed.  Before she
could climb off the short stool, hard hands clasped her waist and lifted her
down as if she weighed nothing. Flustered, she looked up, gritted her teeth
and shifted in uncomfortable awareness when her eyes met Chief Nolan
MacGregor’s amused gaze.  Okay, she admitted it wasn’t the man’s physical
appearance she objected to. What woman wouldn’t look twice at a six foot
two, broad shouldered, slim hipped man who wore a Stetson tipped low
enough to draw the eyes to the slit of his cobalt blue gaze?
No, it was the arrogant dominance he wore like a comfortable coat
that put her on edge whenever he entered her place, more so now he
was crowding her against the shelves and making her even more aware
of that ripped body.  She much preferred easy-going, polite men.
Wishing it was anyone but him, she stated with a huff,
“You’re crowding me, Chief.”
Those sensuous lips curved in a slow smile as he stepped back.
“I wouldn’t make you so uncomfortable if you’d let yourself cut loose
with me.”
Damn.  There went that warm flush spreading through her body when he
thumbed back his hat far enough for those enigmatic, blue eyes to zero in
on her with a long perusal.  He made no effort to hide the appreciative trail
he took from her braided, dark brown hair to her sneaker-clad feet. How
one look from him could make her dormant body sit up and take notice
when she didn’t even like the man was beyond her.  She sure as heck
didn’t like it. She’d never been one to be ruled by baser urges, instead
preferring a positive connection with a man or woman before embarking
on a friendship, something that was definitely lacking between her
and the chief.
Shuffling behind the counter, Mia breathed a sigh of relief once
she put the wide, butcher block space between them.  She glanced up,
way up at the only man who’d been able to get under her skin. There
wasn’t one thing she could pinpoint that rubbed her the wrong way;
instead, it seemed to be the uneasy combination of arrogance,
dominance and male magnetism she objected to, and her betraying
body’s response to those undesirable traits.  There was no use
denying the way her pulse spiked under the slow stroke of his ice-blue
eyes that was as potent as a caress, a reaction she should be used to
by now since it had been occurring from the moment she first set
eyes on him kissing that woman all those years ago.
“Thanks, Chief, but I have enough on my plate right now to keep me
from even thinking about being added to your long list of conquests,”
she returned primly, ignoring his taunting smirk.  “Thank you for
your order. Trish has it ready for you.” She pulled the vase forward.
“I didn’t peg you as the type to listen to small town rumors, Ms.
Reynolds.”  He nodded at the colorful arrangement. “Nice, thank
you. I’m glad I caught you in.”  The way he drew out Ms. Reynolds
in a slow drawl hinted he knew about the finalization of her divorce.
He and every other citizen in Whitetail.
Reaching into his breast pocket, Chief McGregor pulled out two tickets
and slid them across the counter toward her.  Tilting his hat back even
further, he offered her a better view of his rugged face bronzed by sun
and wind and capped with coal black hair tinted grey around his
forehead.  “You haven’t paid these.”
“I’m sorry, I’ve been so busy, I forgot.”  Picking up the parking tickets,
she winced at the fines.  Her habit of pulling over and parking wherever
it was convenient to expedite her errands resulted in a parking fine more
often than not.  That was just one of Pete’s constant complaints that went
along with her always being in a hurry. “I can come in later this afternoon
and take care of them.”

Leaning on the counter, he replied in that deep voice that never failed to
curl her toes.  “See that you do. Or, better yet, don’t. Now that you’re
officially free, it’ll give me a good excuse to offer you a choice of
consequences.”
The corners of his mouth kicked up in another smile, but she couldn’t
miss the hint of a threat behind his words that set her heart to hammering
with uncertainty.  That didn’t concern her near as much as the sudden warm
gush between her legs. She didn’t even like the man, for pity’s sake, and she
really didn’t care for his forward insinuations.

myself peaking. My first book was strictly spanking erotica, but I slowly
evolved to writing erotic spanking romance with a touch of suspense.  My

Fireman Jax has been watching her. When she attempts to drive home, he steps up, takes her car keys, and tells her such irresponsible behavior will not be tolerated. As soon as she’s sober, she’ll be over his knee for a sound spanking. She aghast but secretly panty-wetting hot for him.
Can she submit to his rules?

Excerpt
Jax studied Roxy, admiring her smart business suit, modest sweater, and thick chignon that was slightly unravelling. There was a tenseness about her, like a frightened bird.
Don’t get involved he told himself.
She swallowed and parted her luscious lips in a grateful smile. “It’s perfect thanks.” She reached for her wine and slugged back her second drink.
Taking the pitcher of iced water from the middle of the table, Jax poured her a glass and handed it to her. “You may want to alternate drinks.”
“Who are you? My freaking father?” She pouted.
“If I were and you spoke to me like that, I’d turn you over my knee and spank you.” He smiled to soften his words.
“I’d like to see you try.” She levelled her eye as him while rubbing her knee against his.
The warmth of her body against his made his cock stir. What was he thinking? She was a married woman. With a baby. He glanced at her hands. No rings.
“What would your partner say about that?” he asked.
“Partner?”
“Father of your baby?”
She let out an unladylike bleat of laughter. “That wasn’t my baby. That was Oliver. My nephew. My sister’s kid. I love him to bits but I don’t have any of my own.” She lunged for the bottle of red.
Jax moved it out of her reach, smiling. He liked her candor, her energy. Then there were those great legs and dark brown eyes. A burst of happiness ran over him, even as alarm bells rang, reminding him of what happened with the last woman he’d flirted with.

Anita's Sexy Ideas for the Holidays, #Fun #recipes and #naughtyideas

Okay, it is the holidays and there are parties to go to and people to see, but remember to have a little fun with your honey too.

How about a fire with a cup of eggnog?

If you're looking to make some eggnog here's a place to get a recipe. http://www.eggnogrecipe.net/
Personally, it just easier to buy it at the grocery store and add whatever type of liquor you prefer to it.

What about baking some cookies together?

Get out the sprinkles, frosting, and candy pieces...slip your favorite teddy on under your sweatshirt and let your lover unwrap you in the kitchen and decorate you with tasty treats.

Or maybe if

The Christmas tree is already up why not turn off the overhead lights and watch the tree lights while listening to Christmas music. Remember the quiet times together are just as important as the busy fun times. After all, when was the last time that you made love on the couch...under the Christmas tree?

Have a wonderful holiday season.

Teaser Quotes from Yuletide Yielding by Ashe Barker
“Please,” she murmured, then groaned when he stroked the hurt away. “Please, I want…”
“You want me to fuck you?”
She nodded, unable to lie to him, not about this.
“Tonight,” he promised and released her distended nub. He withdrew his hand, then bent to kiss the top of her head. “And remember, I can give you pain as well as pleasure.”

He knelt behind her and laid his hands on her reddened buttocks. He pressed, palmed them roughly, then eased them apart to examine the tight furl of her most secret place.
“Shall I take you here?” He pressed a finger against the opening.
“If you so wish, my jarl.”

He would never have his fill of this lovely little Saxon wench who relished pain and joy in equal measure. Whether he spanked her until she wept or fucked her until neither of them could see straight, she loved it. He loved it

Snippet from Yuletide Yielding by Ashe Barker
He paused, eyed her with a curious blend of exasperation and something else also. Something softer, warmer, more compassionate. “You did not hope to wed me yourself, did you? You must realise that is impossible.”
“I know that. I have never said—”
“But you have wanted it? Wished it could be so?”
“Perhaps,” she whispered. “But I am not a fool. I am a thrall. Vikings do not marry thralls.”
“They do, on occasion. But I am not merely a Viking. My brother is the jarl. I have responsibilities. Even so, I do not wish to hurt you, and I would prefer that you could be content with what we have.”
But even if you are not, it is happening anyway. The words lay unspoken between them.
His expression hardened. “I have said all I wish to on this matter. We will not speak of it further.”
“Very well.” Resigned to her situation since she could not alter it, and to her coming punishment, Lynet stared at her bare toes. “Do you want me to take off my clothes?” Apart from the blanket and Stian’s cloak, she wore only her thin, rough woollen night smock.
“I do. Then you may arrange yourself across my lap.” Stian started to unfasten the leather belt around his waist.
“You would beat me with your belt?” Lynet recoiled. “I had thought you meant just to spank me.”
“Disobedience alone would have merited a spanking. Your dishonesty requires something a little sterner by way of correction. So, you will undress then come here, Lynet, and accept your punishment.”
