Anita's Review for The Boudoir Sessions

Starla Cole started taking naughty pictures back when we still developed our secret images under red lights in darkrooms. After photographing hundreds of boudoir clients, she realized that each of those pictures were indeed worth a thousand words, and began writing erotica as a way of imagining what might could happen between consenting adults when the camera stops clicking and the lights go down.

The Boudoir Sessions is her first series of erotic shorts. Watch for more work from Starla at her web site: http://starlacole.blogspot.com

The Boudoir Sessions:
Erotic Romance in the Photo Studio
by Starla Cole
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
The Boudoir Sessions is a series of erotic short stories that follow the sexual misadventures of Syria, a boudoir photographer in New Mexico.
Syria meets Tyson, a romantic Santa stripper, who turns her on to a whole new alternative lifestyle through photo shoots with live sex show performers, body contortionists, and experts in Japanese bondage. But even as Syria experiments at Tyson’s suggestion, the couple begins to realize the relationship between them that began as a dalliance is proving to be something much more.
Excerpt -
Mia was so close that Syria could smell everything, a floral lotion, her shampoo, then something else, musky and warm. "Ignore the pirate brute." Mia tugged Syria’s sweater up and away.
"Mmm, nice," Sam said.
"Agreed." Mia slid her hands along the thin web of Syria's bra. "Gorgeous." She reached behind Syria for the hooks. "May I?"
Syria nodded. Mia's skin pressed against hers in several hot places, a breast against her shoulder, another tantalizing close to her cheek.
The bra loosened, falling off her shoulders. "Lovely," Mia said, tugging it away. She had none of Syria's inhibitions.
Syria could not stifle her gasp. Mia was so different, her lips softer than men's, always so much firmer and demanding. Mia's were feather light, tugging gently, small teeth nipping at the tip.
"One for me?" Sam asked. He leaned forward, and Syria reveled in the difference. Sam's cheek stubble was rough on the tender skin, while Mia was smooth and soft.
"Oh, man," she breathed. She'd never been so completely overwhelmed by an experience. Sam wrapped an arm around her hips and pulled her legs forward, pressing her down on her back. "Shall we look at more of this fair lass?" he asked Mia.
"If she be willing." Mia moved up for a kiss. Her lips were just as yielding there, forming the question against Syria's mouth. "Are you?"
My Review - As a photographer, Syria has seen many things, but when she tempted by the subject of her pictures. She can't turn away and has to follow her desires.
Tyson finds he wants more than just his picture taken and with a little encourage he makes all of Syria dreams come true. He then tempts her into a world of fun and introduces her to other people she can photograph and play with.
A continuing hot read, one story lead to the next and leaves you wait for what will happen next.
Give if a gander and see if you don't want to take a few pictures yourself.
A very hot read,
The Angry Woman Suite - Tour
THE ANGRY WOMAN SUITE
By
Lee Fullbright
BLURB:
Raised in a crumbling New England mansion by four women with personalities as split as a cracked mirror, young Francis Grayson has an obsessive need to fix them all. There’s his mother, distant and beautiful Magdalene; his disfigured, suffocating Aunt Stella; his odious grandmother; and the bane of his existence, his abusive and delusional Aunt Lothian.
For years, Francis plays a tricky game of duck and cover with the women, turning to music to stay sane. He finds a friend and mentor in Aidan Madsen, schoolmaster, local Revolutionary War historian, musician and keeper of the Grayson women’s darkest secrets. In a skillful move by Fullbright, those secrets are revealed through the viewpoints of three different people–Aidan, Francis and Francis’stepdaughter, Elyse–adding layers of eloquent complexity to a story as powerful as it is troubling.
While Francis realizes his dream of forming his own big band in the 1940s, his success is tempered by the inner monster of his childhood, one that roars to life when he marries Elyse’s mother. Elyse becomes her stepfather’s favorite target, and her bitterness becomes entwined with a desire to know the real Francis Grayson.
For Aidan’s part, his involvement with the Grayson family only deepens, and secrets carried for a lifetime begin to coalesce as he seeks to enlighten Francis–and subsequently Elyse–of why the events of so many years ago matter now. The ugliness of deceit, betrayal and resentment permeates the narrative, yet there are shining moments of hope, especially in the relationship between Elyse and her grandfather.
Ultimately, as more of the past filters into the present, the question becomes: What is the truth, and whose version of the truth is correct? Fullbright never untangles this conundrum, and it only adds to the richness of this exemplary novel.—Kirkus Reviews
“I’ll tell you what I’m ready for, Aidan. I’m ready for the top floor.” His eyebrows shot up.
“I beg your pardon?”
“The third floor of Grayson House. I’m ready for it. I’m really ready.”
“I don’t think I understand—”
“Please, Aidan.” I emphasized each word: “I’m ready to meet Jamie.”
I turned and walked out of that parlor then, and into the foyer and up the ten steps to the landing where the grand staircase turned direction. I ran up the first flight, then paused at the second landing, waiting for Aidan. When I glimpsed him behind me, I turned and ran up the next flight, to the third floor, straight for the door at the end of the hallway, next to the door that opened onto the outside stairs.
I’d been able to pinpoint this door as the one by the soft thumps I’d heard when I’d sneaked into Papa’s room on the second floor—things nobody thought I’d hear—and by watching from my spot across the road: the quick deliveries and arrivals, the things and people nobody thought I’d see.
I hesitated, not feeling anything, I was now so empty. No more  anger. Instead I was in tune with senses: the steady tick-tock of the clock at the end of the otherwise soundless hallway, the wallpaper’s perfectly vertical stripe, even an aromatic odor reminiscent of the appendectomy I’d had when I was six—was it ether? And then, finally, Aidan’s ragged breathing when he caught up with me. We were ready,  in position—and it was understood I’d assumed leadership: I’d go first.
I turned the doorknob. My opponent had just run through his resources.
A World Apart - Blast the Book into Cyberspace
David Brown could be considered a fantasy fanatic, especially since he has spent the last 10 years developing a 47,000-year history for his fictional world of Elenchera. When converting his obsession into literary form, David commits himself to a rigorous writing and editing process before his work can meet his approval. Combined with the critical eye of his wife and a BA Hons in History and English, David's dedication leads him to his goal of inspiring readers through heartfelt stories and characters.
Although David is inspired primarily by fantasy fiction, he also finds his muse in the form of anime, world cinema, history, and biographies. His own books, Fezariu's Epiphany and A World Apart, and the in-progress Ansel's Remorse and The Stars Beneath the Parapets combine aspects from worlds both old and new into compelling tales of a world not soon forgotten. David himself certainly does not lack a spirit of adventure; in fact, he left his job in 2007 in order to spend a month travelling. Second only to meeting and marrying his wife, David counts this as one of the most amazing experiences of his life.
A World Apart
By
David Brown
BLURB:
Demetrius makes his first mistake when he lets his best friend Halcyon marry Eleyna, the love of his life, without saying a word. On the day of the wedding, he walks away from the Elencheran town of Dove's Meadow and joins the army.
He makes his second mistake when the pirate Black Iris tricks him into letting dozens of men, women and children die in a fire. Demetrius is imprisoned in grief and disgrace.
But he can atone. The Black Iris is dead. The Ivory Rose has risen to the top of the pirates and is leading brutal raids on the coast. If Demetrius can capture and kill her, he'll win his pardon.
And then Demetrius discovers the Ivory Rose is Eleyna. He must decide which will be his third mistake: losing his last chance at a pardon or destroying the one woman he's ever loved.
From Chapter 29: An End to Sorrow (29633-5)
Over the next two weeks the Order spearheaded the clean-up of Merrivale. Only when the last of the flames had been doused and the final plumes of smoke from the embers had subsided was the true extent of the devastation apparent. In the south and west of Merrivale, there was hardly a street that had not suffered some destruction and ruin.
The main road running from the south gate to the citadel had suffered the most damage. Entire houses and shops had been blown apart, their interiors in pieces on the street, while the foundations still stood but trembled uncomfortably in the light, ghostly breeze that swept through the city. Businesses were destroyed, homes lay in ruins and piles of rubble were being sifted through from dawn until dusk by soldiers and citizens.
It took until the second week for the last of the bodies to be found and by that time the shocking reality of the Ivory Rose’s appalling assault against Merrivale had spread throughout Himordia and across the sea to other lands. With the situation on the streets having become so desperate, the Order had committed half of the junta to defend the city.
The Order was not unfamiliar with death. Its members were all veterans of combat and no one was worthy of a place on the junta unless they had held a sword and knew how to wield it in victory. Sometimes members of the Order could not sate their lust for battle and chose to lead armies into battle overseas or in the repression of insurgency and rebellion. Sometimes members of the Order were killed. It was the reality of battle, the thin line between life and death, the weaving of the hands of fate.
