An #Excerpt Exchange from @EmberLeighAuth -- The Last Resort #romance

THE LAST RESORT
By Ember Leigh

Blurb:
Rose Delaney is a baby bounty hunter, rescuing children from fugitive ex-spouses. All she wants is to return a recovered child to its mother and get back to her regimented solitary life. But when a snow storm leaves her and baby Emmy stranded, Rose has no choice but to lean on the ruggedly handsome rescuer, who thinks the baby is hers. Holed up in their mountain resort-under-construction and unable to contact Emmy’s mother, Rose's priority is hitting the road—even if Garrett’s erotic touch entices her to ride out the storm.
Construction boss Garrett Galo loves his job, but he never imagined a perk like being snowbound during a whiteout with the sassy brunette he just rear-ended. He’s learned to stay away from women who want a family, especially when they come with a kid in tow. When passionate nighttime encounters flare between them, Garrett begins to question what he’d risk to keep Rose.
This isn’t the time or the place for romance—but will five days on a mountain make these loners reconsider giving in to love?

Excerpt:
Around the corner, she didn’t see either of the brothers. The shower hummed from inside the bathroom.
Two options. She pressed her ear against the bathroom door and listened, only hearing the steady rush of the water hitting the wall. She could burst inside and hop into the shower with whoever it might be, including Wes…or she could politely knock and lose all shock value.
Rose decided the first one.
She turned the doorknob quietly and pushed on the door. Beyond, she could see the first curve of the sink and part of the trashcan. No feet. No hands.
A cough from within.
She smirked—definitely Garrett.
Inching the door open further, she poked her head in. Garrett’s body silhouetted against the translucent shower door. The image of his chiseled, naked body seared through her mind. Her mouth went dry.
She crept inside and eased the door shut, body rigid as she watched his shadow move inside the shower. The fogged mirror hid her reflection as the soft mesh shorts slipped to ground, followed by her undies and T-shirt.
Garrett began humming, out of tune, something that sounded suspiciously like a children’s song.
Rose grinned, excitement roiling beneath her skin. This not only was going to happen, it needed to happen. Her heart thumped in her chest as she reached for the shower door.
The door opened a few inches before Garrett’s humming turned into a gasp. He whipped around and pulled aside the shower door, eyes wild.
“Rose.”
She grinned up at him, loving the swirls of shock and appreciation in his eyes as he took her in.
“Can I join?”
His mouth hung open a moment, gaze sweeping over her naked body, lighting fires on her skin. He grabbed her around the waist and yanked her inside the shower, slamming the door shut behind her.
The water hit her body in a pleasingly warm rush. He pinned her to the shower wall with his hips. Her breath hitched.
“I don’t even want to ask why you’re naked in my bathroom,” he said, kissing her neck, “and I don’t even care. Fact is, you’re here, and you’re mine now.” She giggled as the kisses dropped between her breasts and then traveled up to her mouth. His hair clung to his face and neck. She trailed her fingers up his arms and around his neck as Garrett sealed their bodies together. Her skin buzzed hot and happy against his.
“You are one sneaky lady,” he murmured, tugging on her bottom lip with his teeth.
Contentment surged through her, and she closed her eyes, relishing this unlikely moment. She might never see Garrett again in her life after tomorrow, or the next day. How did she even find her way to know him? It was all so impossible. It was time to make sure neither of them ever forgot— or regretted—meeting the other.
“I know how to get what I want.”

A New York Minute @EmberLeighAuth #eroticromance

BLURB:

Paige Alexander, successful host of A New York Minute, adores her job and will do anything to save the show that’s her brainchild. But when IBC, fronted by Josh Lambert, buys NYCBC, Paige’s show is cancelled, and her choices are unemployment or a non-starring role on a new show co-hosted by Jerk Lambert, a man who makes her hotter than hell in every way.

Having scaled the golden rungs of the corporate ladder, Josh doesn’t do relationships or complicated. Promised a multimillion dollar payday if he turns Wakin’ Up—the show that replaced Paige’s—into a hit, Josh kisses uncomplicated goodbye when she shows up. The woman fascinates and terrifies in equal measure, and he’s suddenly questioning the value of gold versus the value of her.

Forced together in an Hawaiian paradise, the steam just keeps rising—on set, in the sauna, and in the narrowing distance between them.

EXCERPT:

“I’ve wanted this to happen since the day I met you,” he whispered in her ear, sending shivers up and down her spine.
“So have I,” she admitted, too quickly for her own taste.
He laughed, deep and gravelly. His green eyes sparkled—the mask of his professional façade had completely fallen away. She loved this real Josh above her. He was so boyish yet mature, hard-bodied yet gentle.
“But Paige, I thought you hated me.”
“What makes you think I still don’t?” She placed tiny kisses up and down the sides of his neck. Kissing him removed the veneer of his professional side, allowed her to peer behind the curtain to the soft core inside. A regular guy with power, a west coast boy with dreams. Wiping away the Hollywood lacquer revealed something even more attractive beneath.
“Well, this certainly doesn’t look like you hate me,” he whispered, fingertips trailing down the side of her face, over the dip in her neck, making swirls in the area between her breasts.
