Length is an Issue

No, I'm not talking about that...I referring to the length of a story.

Depending on the length of your manuscript, you might have to look at a different publisher.

Example -

 The Wild Rose Press accept

Rosette 7,500 to 20.000 words (ebook only)
Miniature Rose 20,001 to 40,000 words (ebook only)
Rosebud 40,001 to 65,000 words (ebook only)
Bouquet (anthology) 65,001 to 100,000 words (ebook only)
Rose 65,001 to 100,000 words (ebook & print)

While Ellora's Cave

Story length is 7,000 to 125,000 words. We do not take submissions of anthologies or collections. Each
story must be minimum 7,000 words and be submitted individually.

Each publisher can be different so check their submission guidelines before submitting.

So what do you do if you have a short story?

Possibilities -

Publish it yourself
Offer it as a free read
Look in to magazines who publish short stories.
etc.

Hope this helps,
