Excerpt from Bonus Story - McKee's Family.

The light breeze running across the plains halted. With the hot sun beating down on her, she grew warmer. A trickle of sweat ran down her back. Doubts plagued her. Damn, she should have never let her daughter talk her into coming here.
“Midnight, here, is one we raised from a colt. We currently have two mares ready to foal and have a total of eight horses. That’s not counting the ones we are training for other people.” Barton continued talking as if unaware of her conflicting emotions.
“That must keep you and your brother very busy. I’ll have to make sure Genna and I don’t cause you any problem while we’re visiting.” Arlene wondered how long before her sister drove her back into town. Who wanted to help a down and out relative? Especially after all the fights, they had as kids.
“Don’t worry. It’ll be fun to have someone new to talk to. Other than my parents and my sister, we rarely get any visitors. Except during the holidays when other assorted relatives get together.” Barton glanced at Genna and smiled. “Only problem is your daughter will probably be spoiled rotten by the time you leave.”
Amused by the possibility, Arlene grinned. Her daughter had many talents. One was wearing on people’s nerves. “I’m sure she’ll enjoy the attention.”
He chuckled, “What child doesn’t?”
She noted the spark of amusement in his eyes. Something about his carefree attitude attracted her, and she wondered what it would be like to have this man’s love. Her marriage had been less than harmonious. Her husband, a gambler, had moved them from place to place always looking for a better game. When they were first married, she’d loved discovering new places. Then Genna had come along, and everything had changed.
“So how long do you think you’ll be here?”

Let's round out the hop with a  free read - Hot Prairie Nights is a Historical Western erotic romance.
