Capturing His Heart by Daryl Devore #daryldevore,#Hot,#romance,

Caution - One smouldering twisted fairy tale mixed with one hot medieval romance might burn more than your fingers.

A water droplet landed on Red’s cheek and startled her. She wiped it and opened her eyes. “Welcome back, sleepy head.” Chopper wiped his hand on his shorts and placed the glass of water on the table.

“Have I been out long?” She looked at her watch and wondered what time she'd fallen asleep.

“I've been here about five minutes.” Chopper jumped up. “Ok, now that you're awake, I just have to tell you. This song popped into my head and it's driving me crazy.”

Red dropped her tablet into her beach bag and waited for him to continue.

“It's the Red Riding Hood song. I think Sam the Sham and the Prophets sang it. It's like from like the mid-sixties.”

She shook her head. “Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. And it took you long enough to get there. Most people start cracking jokes within minutes of hearing my name.”

“I wasn't focused yesterday. But today, I'm Michael Jackson!” He stepped right and left and snapped his fingers.

“Little Red Riding Hood.

You sure are looking good.

You're everything that a big, bad wolf could want.”

He spun around and posed, one arm at his crotch and flung the other up in the air. “Owooooooo!

Trying to keep a straight face, Red asked, “You aren't going to send in an application for that dance show thing, right?”

“What, you don't like my dancin'?” He shook his knees in and out and flapped his arms like a chicken, then made two-handed stirring motions, like he was in front of a large cauldron. “Why are you laughing? I'm just getting started.” He leaned forward and jerked up his right hand. “It's called the lawn mower. But, if you do it this way…” He straightened and repeated the pulling motion. “Then it's the chainsaw. Oh. Oh. And now for the big finale. The Moonwalk.”

He slid his right foot back and popped his left heel, then slid that foot back. Red had to admit he did a good version of Michael's famous move – until he backed into the waiter and knocked a tray of drinks onto the passengers seated near her.

Stop that crying or by all that is powerful, I will beat you.”

“Do not yell so. You will frighten the poor child.”

Through tears, Branwyn stared at her uncle and aunt. “I… I do not understand. Why must I go?”

Her aunt sat next to her. “It is your time, child. A husband has been chosen. You must leave us to join with him.”

“About time it is!” Her uncle’s face grew redder with each word. “One year shy of a score she is, and still unwed. She must fall to her knees to thank God someone wishes to marry such an old spinster.”

Branwyn slapped the arm of her chair. “I decline. It is my right. I shall not marry this man!”

“How many men do you think you can refuse?” Her uncle paced about the small room. “This is the fourth suitor to ask for your hand. You cannot. It is done. Your things are being loaded as we speak.” He jerked back a curtain in the window and pointed.

The door opened and in stepped a tall, broad-shouldered soldier. “The carriage awaits.”

“Branwyn.” Aunt Selda patted her hand. “You have no dowry. This is a good match. He is a rich man. He will give you babies.”

Suspicion gnawed at Branwyn’s stomach. “And what did he give you?”

“Gold.”

Blurb

Daryl Devoré has bundled two of her hot romances into a duology. A hot twisted fairy and a hotter medieval romance combined in Capturing His Heart.

Dark Chocolate and Strawberries takes you on a hot romp on a Caribbean cruise. Esmerelda 'Red' Hood discovers her sweet granny is on a romantic cruise with a gigolo. Horrified, Red races off to save her grandma before it's too late.

On board, she meets Andrew Woodsman and Willem Olf. One a cutie with the biggest puppy eyes and the other - dark and sophisticated. Even with her grandmother's words ringing in Red's ears - Never trust a wolf in sheep's clothing - Red has trouble choosing which man is the big bad wolf and which is her happily ever after.

Branwyn’s Love transports you back to medieval times. It is the tale of a young woman sold as a courtesan in training. Branwyn arrives in a new land to begin daily lessons in the bewildering art of bedding a man.

The noblewoman chosen to be Prince Malacke’s bride rejects him by bedding his hated rival. Malacke turns his anger towards increasing the power and wealth of Black Dorn castle. And he succeeds, until his attention is captured by the face of the woman who will be his queen.

Tagline - What's a naughty fairy tale like Red Riding Hood without Red, the huntsman, grandma and especially, the big bad wolf?

Excerpt G rated
When the elevator doors slid open, Red stepped into the hallway. Before her, the impressive glass and brass doors of Hood's Chocolatier –the corporate offices of one of the country's largest independent chocolate makers. She stepped through the doorway and marched toward her cubicle.
Three steps from her destination, the word, “Esmeralda!” broke the silence.
Caught! She sighed, formed a smile, and turned. “Yes, Mother?”
“Where have you been? I've called and called.”
“I noticed. Six voice mails and fourteen text messages. Nothing flagged urgent. You seem fine. I'm fine. So, what's the big deal?” She frowned. What could be the problem? “Oh no, is it Grandma?”
Her mother threw her hands up. “Yes!”
“What? What's wrong? Is she sick? She didn't fall and break anything, did she?”
“She's driving me out of my mind.”
Red bit back the sentence – Oh happy day – and instead managed to say, “What's she done now?”
“Not here. Come into my office.”
“Can I go put my coat and things—”
Hearing her mother's sigh of frustration, Red surrendered then remembered that following her mother to her office would mean passing by the office of Stanley Parkinson, VP of Sales. She stood a little taller, pulled in her stomach and strode near his office then deflated at the sight of his closed door.
Red had barely stepped into the office marked R. Hood, when her mother pushed her aside and closed the door. “Your grandmother has booked a stateroom on a cruise ship and is taking a man with her.”
Sensing So what?? was the wrong answer, Red let her mother vent whatever bothered her. This day could still be saved. If her mother stayed focused on the crisis-of-the-moment she might forget the weekly discussion of her love life.
“A man. Did you hear me?”
“Yes, Mother.” Red unbuttoned her coat, dropped her gloves, scarf and onto the seat next to her then settled in the brown leather chair in front of the desk. Her mother walked around and sat behind her large, hand carved, oak desk. It provided an imposing barrier between mother and daughter.
“I haven't told you this before, but your grandmother's going through your grandfather's money faster than you can go through a tub of maple walnut ice cream after a breakup.”
“Mom!”
Folding her immaculately manicured hands and placing them on her desk, Red's mother looked up. “Your flight's at two.”
“Excuse me?”
“I've booked a flight to Miami and a stateroom on The Emerald Forest.”
Red shook her head. “I can't afford a stateroom on a junior accountant's salary.”
“The company is paying. I had my secretary send everything to your cell. Now, you have no time to talk. Go home, pack, find your passport and save your grandmother.”
Red's voice rose an octave, “Save my grandmother? From what?”
R. Hood placed her fingers on her forehead. “Save your grandmother from spending your inheritance on some gigolo. Your grandfather built this company from nothing to a multi-million dollar business. And he had to fight the big boys like Hersey and the Mars brothers to do it.”
Red sighed. “I know the corporate story, Mom. He started by making his chocolate in great grandma's kitchen and from those humble beginnings—”
“Put you through Harvard Business School,” snapped her mother.
“Only to be dumped in a junior accountant's position.”
“We'll fight later. Now go. No. Wait.” Red’s mother pressed an intercom button.
A disembodied voice responded. “Yes, Mrs. Hood?”
“The box for my mother-in-law, where is it?”
“I'll bring it right in, Mrs. Hood.” A moment later, the door opened and Brittnee entered carrying a silver box. She offered it to Mrs. Hood.
Robin pointed to her daughter. The secretary handed the box to Red and left the office, closing the door behind her. Red didn’t need to ask, she knew it was the box. It contained the new samples for next year's line. Grandma Hood retained the right of final decision on what chocolates were sold at Hood Chocolatier.
“Take those to your grandmother. A taste of home might bring her to her senses.”
Red held back a frustrated sigh. She didn't want to fly to Miami. If she was away, Katerina would jump at the chance to sink her claws into Stanley. Her man, the stud, the gorgeous VP of Sales who made her body swoon with desire whenever he walked by. The smell of his aftershave made her undies wet. Once, she rode from the lobby to the sixth floor with him and almost had an orgasm before the elevator doors opened. She couldn't concede this hunk of a man to Katerina. But what could she do?
Her mother snapped her fingers. “Why are you just sitting there? Go. Save your grandmother. Save your inheritance.”

Two O'Clock with the Billionaire by Daryl Devore , #hotread , #daryldevore , #romance

Two O’clock with the Billionaire

Daryl Devore –

Tagline

Arianne’s just regular girl pushed into a corner and desperately looking for a way out.

Two O’clock with the Billionaire is a prime example of what happens when a story takes over. This was just supposed to be a sweet little romance, but it turns out Derek and Arianne had other ideas.

Excerpt –

“Women!” Derek snapped his cell phone shut and threw it onto his night table. He untied his blue-striped silk tie and tossed it onto the bed. In moments, his Italian-cut three-piece suit lay equally flung aside. Pulling open the bottom dresser drawer, he removed a fraying college sweatshirt and a pair of faded blue jeans. After lacing up his well-worn sneakers and ruffling his groomed hair, he stared at his reflection in his full-length mirror. The transformation from chairman of the board to construction worker took less than five minutes. Grabbing his wallet, he removed his driver’s license, one charge card, and thirty-five dollars and placed them into an old brown wallet. He stuffed it into his back-hip pocket, grabbed his cell phone and exited his bedroom.

Donning his jacket with the New York Rangers team’s logo, he checked the pocket for his car keys, then rode his private elevator down to the basement parking garage. He walked past his three expensive imports, unlocked the rusted, dark blue Camaro and drove out of the upper rich side.

Traffic was a beast. Snow had fallen all day. The roads were slippery and regular people were anxious to get home. Not Derek. He headed to Charlie’s, a topless bar on the corner of don’t know and don’t care.

Blurb

Two O’clock with the Billionaire is one of Daryl Devoré’s hot romances. A contemporary romance sweetened with a bit of vanilla sexcapades.

Where Derek Davenport is concerned, women only had one thing in mind: trap him into a marriage. The perfect way out? Hire a courtesan. While partying with his buddies he places an online ad that reads – Woman Wanted.

Unemployed and nearing financial desperation, Arianne is forced to step out of her comfort zone and answers an ad that reads Woman Wanted. With minimal hours and excellent pay, she accepts the position of courtesan to a handsome billionaire.

Their sexual antics cause emotions neither is willing to admit it. Will Arianne and Derek drive each other crazy…or will they fall in love first?

Excerpt
A crack of thunder startled me. I twisted my neck around. Through the open curtains, I could see the windows were drenched with water. "It's raining."
"It's England." He pressed tiny kisses down my neck and nipped that point where shoulder meets throat.
Mark tightened his grip around my waist then shifted to carry me back to the bedroom. He stopped. "Bed's too far away." He turned and lowered my back to the dining room table. The wood was cold against my flesh. He slid his hands up my thighs and fondled my sex. "I've fought this, but all I want is you. I need you. I need us." He slipped two fingers inside me.
I closed my eyes, grinding my hips against his hand as a moan rumbled in my throat. A hunger which demanded to be fed.
This was the Mark that I'd waited for. He'd released the control that gripped him; the rules of society, and etiquette. Now, he was giving himself to me. He wanted to be my lover.
I locked gazes with him. "I want you."
He leaned forward and sucked a nipple into his mouth. Using the tip of his tongue, he twirled around it then pulled back and let it pop out from between his lips. His hand continued to slide in and out of me. His thumb circling my clit. That first hint of release pulsed.
I clenched my muscles. "I want you in me. Hurry!"
He kissed a trail from one breast to the other. "Can't. No protection."
I grabbed both sides of his head. "Mark! Dammit! I need you. Fuck me."
Slowing his strokes, he slipped his hand out, lifted me and positioned me over his full erection, carefully lowering my hips. His movement felt like fine silk across my smooth skin. I lapped my tongue up the side of his neck and nipped his earlobe, hissing as he shifted his hips upward then pulling back.
That sexual beast that lived inside me reared its head. I planted my mouth on his and drove my tongue between his teeth. He matched my movement with his cock. I slid out. He pulled back. I drove in. He thrust upward.
My moans mixed with the sounds of the wind and the rain on the window.
He moved around and pressed my back on the wall. Reaching up with his right hand, Mark flicked my left nipple. His twirling it between his thumb and forefinger made me grind my hips on him.
I released his mouth, arching my head back. "I'm close. Harder."
"No." He pulled back. His chest heaving.
"Yes."
It sounded like a snarl, and I meant it.

Love My Fate @daryldevore, #daryldevore, #hotread, #urbanfantasy

Love My Fate

Recipe for heat. Take one human – Capricious Gray – and mix with one Fate – Thall. Add in a dash of jealousy, anger, passion and lust.

6 Questions with Capri Gray from Love My Fate

1. What is your full name and what do you do?
Capricious Gray – Capri for short and to add to that – I’m a Capri-corn.
At the start of my story I was an executive in a global corporation.

3. How did you meet the man of your dreams?
That’s not easy to answer. The man of my dreams isn’t a man – sort of. We met at a sex toy convention.

4. You obviously have to explain that!
My BFF, Kat, dragged me off to a sex toy convention. Her idea! And I heard this voice ask me to purchase something fun, something erotic and something dangerous. And it just went from there.

5. So, did you buy something fun, something erotic and something dangerous?
Suffice it to say, I made interesting purchases that evening which may have happened due to the consumption of several glasses of champagne.

6. Any advice for the readers of your story?
If you like deep drama that focuses on the angst of modern society – this is so not the story for you. This is my story - an average woman living an average life when out-of-the-blue highly unusual things start happening.

Blurb
What's a woman to do when a voice follows her home and makes mad, passionate love to her?
Daryl Devoré’s latest is a quirky paranormal urban fantasy – Love My Fate.
Corporate businesswoman, Capricious Gray, is dragged to a sex toy convention by her best friend. After a mysterious disembodied voice helps her with her purchases, it follows her home. Passion ensues, leaving Capri torn between lust for her fantasy lover and the desperate need for reality in her life.
Thall, son of one of the Fates, harbours the irrepressible need to be with the woman he's desired from afar for years. In order to make her his, once and for all, he must help Capri get past her fears, including the fear of what he represents - a fantasy.
Can fantasy become a reality for these two lovers?

Note: This book was previously published by New Dawning Bookfair under the title Capri’s Fate. The edition has a new title, new cover and has restored previously deleted scenes.

Excerpt
My erotic adventure began the moment he whispered, "Do you happen to own a pair of red, fuzzy handcuffs?"
~ * * ~
Well okay, it didn't exactly start there. If I'm going to be perfectly honest, I think it started with Kat's text: "Meet me at - insert name of five-star restaurant here."
Kat’s always getting me to take her out for expensive dinners. I don't mind, I'm a highly-paid executive, in a large global corporation, while she's a receptionist in a small dental office. Besides, I like good food and her company.
Kat and I have been BFFs since third grade. We were in each other's wedding parties and cried on each other's shoulders at our subsequent divorces. Now, we're each other's go-to person whenever the mood strikes. Obviously, the mood struck and it involved my credit card. I texted back a reply –"Xavier's. 6 pm."
~ * * ~
Kat waited outside the restaurant when my cab pulled up to the curb. "Timing or what? I just got here."
After the requisite cheek kiss, we stepped up to the Maitre D'. He smiled his I-must-be-friendly-because-they're-guests smile and escorted us to our table. We ordered drinks and chatted. We talked about the weather, her new dress, my job—you know, just old—no, scratch old, put long-time—girlfriend stuff.
After a diet conscious meal, followed by a calorie-loaded dessert, we waited outside for a taxi.
"Do you trust me?" With a goofy grin on her face, Kat's dark chocolate mellowed-from-too-much-wine, eyes gazed at me.
Having seen that innocent demeanour before; it meant nothing but trouble. I was a bit wary. Okay, a lot wary! The last time she'd gawked at me like that and asked the same brainless question, we ended up at a frat house beer slosh during Homecoming and I wasn't in college anymore.
A cab pulled up and stopped. She grabbed my arm and dragged me into it. "Convention Centre."
I slid next to her and shut the car door. "What's at the convention centre?"
"That's the trust me bit." She raised her hands and flicked two fingers up and down at the words trust me.
You have to love air quotes.
I checked my cell for messages then glanced at her. "Is this going to get me arrested? Again?"
She shook her head.
"Is it going to get me hit on—again—by horny, beer-soaked, college drunks?"
Kat giggled.
"Is that a yes or a no?"
"Nope. Not going to tell you. You need to trust me."
Air quotes.
Again.
