#One Tip for Authors

Write.

Funny, this should be easy.

Yet, finding the time to do it is a challenge for all of us.

Commit to the goal and you will find, that the words flow easier, and you learn more about you're craft as you take the journey to becoming a better writer.

Tips that might help.

1. write the same time every day.
2. try writing some place new...coffee shop, library, etc.
3. write on something other than on your work in progress... do a free write.
4. put your butt in the chair.
5. don't get on the internet when you sit down to write.
6. reward yourself with a special treat if you reach your daily goal.
7. Set a daily goal.
8. use a timer if you work better under pressure.
9. Tell other what you are planning to achieve, this will make you more accountable.
10. try your best to remember .... writing is fun...so go play.

Good luck,

  1. Great tips, Anita!

Here's one more: Figure out YOUR best writing method and stick to it. Everybody's different. I'm a binge writer, for example. All in or not at all.

Thanks again for the excellent suggestions, Anita! I should be paying attention to #5 right now!

    Hug,

    Carole
