Hot? Yes, Texas summers sizzle. Lured by the brilliant idea of dipping naked into the Trinity River, Carolyn Evans wades into the water and is captured by the swift moving current, putting her life in danger.

Help! The cry sends Marcus Goodman, who’s on his way with a friend to the Gulf of Mexico to join the confederate army into the river to save the naked lady. The only problem is a passing steamboat has the same mission, placing him in a ticklish situation when they’re pulled aboard, and she claims they are married.

Tempted by the adventurous opportunity and enthralled with the sexy woman, he holds her to the claim of matrimony. Will this end with a happy-ever-after union or a soul-crushing heartache?

Tagline – Saved by a sexy stranger, Carolyn Devans tells a lie can claims Marcus Goodman is her husband…Now can she hope for a happy-ever-after or just enjoy a brief affair?

Sinking lower into the murky depths, Marcus realized her panicked grip had loosened before a muffled scream rang above him and a foot connected with his chest. Seconds later, air exploded from his lungs. Darting away from her, he scurried to the surface and was met with a roaring whirl.

Gulping in both air and water, his lungs rejected the mixture, causing a stream of coughs to inhibit his progress of saving the drowning damsel.

Plop.

Spinning, he caught sight of a floating white circle before waves crashed around him.

“Grab hold, and we’ll pull you up.” A voice boomed from the steamboat.

Instantly glancing around, he noticed the woman struggling to reach the device. Swimming over to her, he shoved her closer to the floating ring before grabbing hold and draping an arm around her waist. “Just hold on, and they’ll lift us up.”

Eyes growing wider, she stared up at the boat’s railing. “But...”

After being drug for a short distance, the ring lifted onto its side. Tightening his grip on the woman, he repositioned her into its center. “If you put your head through here, you can wrap your arms over the sides, and it’ll help keep you steady.”

Seconds after following his instructions, the device rose between them. Immediately grabbing ahold of the rope, he wrapped his arms around her and the ring. Then the upward movement tugged them from the water. His feet dangled in the river for a moment before they swung on the end of the line. The rope jerking them upward, slammed him into the side of the steamboat. Pain radiated along his right side, prompting his grip to tighten.

“Oh, God, what if they drop us?” Her whispered words rang with fear before she buried her face onto his upper torso. “Thanks for at least trying to save me.”

Plastered against him, her silky skin caressed his stomach while her alluring warmth penetrated the fabric of his pants, diverting the pain in his back and created a fire in his blood that eased the frigid chill of the tributary.

Hearing the voices of the people lining the steamboat’s railing, he glanced up at the concerned expressions above. With his frame hiding the naked woman in his arms, he couldn’t help but wonder what the curious passengers would say when they finally arrived on board in their current state of undress.

Furious, Catherine Jensen refuses to allow her dream of marrying Trent McCall to fall into ruins because of an end-of-the-trail party. Not wanting him to sleep with a painted lady or two on the eve of their engagement, she arranges a seduction. But at what cost? Will it secure their future or ruin her squeaky-clean reputation?

Excited to celebrate his success of completing a long cattle drive with a sexy lady, Trent is blindsided with the news of an arranged marriage between him and a girl he hasn’t seen in four years because she’d hightailed it to Boston. Now a city girl, she’d probably turn out to be just like his family’s deserting momma, who’d bail when the going got tough.

Pissed, his bad mood eases when he learns a special lady was meeting him at his hunting cabin. With the future uncertain, he figured a passion-filled night might lighten the load of his matrimonial chains.

– Texas Passion is a hot historical western romance. This novella guarantees a HEA with several other stories in the series.

– Second edition. Newly revised and edited.

Tagline—Determined woman means to secure her man.

PG Excerpt:

Damn it, how can dad expect me to marry a girl I haven’t seen in years?

“Hey, Trent, it looks like you got to the party a little late. Good thing Ms. Lillian saved a special girl for you.”

Caught off guard by the comment, he whirled around and noticed Hank standing next to a nearby stall. “What?”

Shifting his feet, he again scanned the half-clad women around the area. Had his father arranged a private session to soften his resistance to an arranged marriage? “Where is she hiding?”

“Said you’d find her at your old hunting cabin.” Hank tipped back his glass and drained it before slamming the empty on the table. “As for me, I’m heading home to my wife. These boys don’t look like they’ll last much longer.”

Studying the motley group, Trent nodded. “You’re right. There’s not much point in hanging around here. Not if I have a woman waiting for me somewhere else.” Without bothering with goodbyes, he strolled out of the building. After the weeks he’d spent in the saddle, he could use a different type of ride. One that included pounding into a hot pussy to release the frustration pooling in his loins.

“I saddled your horse and tied it over here by mine.” Following him outside, Hank pointed to his favorite stallion standing next to a Bay.

Confused why he hadn’t noticed his horse when he’d entered the barn, he muttered a low growl of thanks.

Recalling his meeting with his father, he remembered the angry words they’d shared that still rattled his nerves. Then he pictured the satisfying smile on his father’s face and the unreasonable demand to comply without offering some type of discussion. Suddenly, a nagging tickle at the back of his neck prompted him to review their encounter and found something was off.

But what?

Shoving aside the probing questions pinging inside his brain, he strolled to his black horse and untied the reins from the hitching post. A cooling breeze brushed across his face and some of his earlier anger with his father’s ultimatum faded. “I bet the girl who’s waiting for me is already asleep.”

Deputy's Bride by Anita Philmar #Historical #Western #HEA

A hot, historical western stand-alone story with a satisfying HEA.

Texas Deputy Bo Kildare is looking for a special kind of lady, one that is willing to meet his special requirements. No sweet little virgin will do, he wants a woman who knows how to please a man, perhaps two.

Recently widowed, Sarah Elizabeth Foster-LaFever has lived in the public eye for the last few years and wants out. Her reputation as Micah LaFever’s wife has left her penniless and without many viable options until Bo comes calling.

Now, she believes she found the perfect man until her past rears its ugly head. Can murder and corrupt dealings keep these two lovers from making it to the alter?

Excerpt:

“Why Bo Kildare? You’re just the man I’ve been looking for.”

The fridge wind and the chilling words sent a shiver down Bo’s spine. His foot faltered on the wooden planks of the sidewalk. For months now he’d dodged every married woman in the territory. All of them had joined forces and decided he needed a wife. More mothers than he could name had introduced him to their daughters. Some even offered dowries for a quick marriage proposal. He’d manage to avoid the snare of virginal bride but it had been a close call a time or two.

As the deputy of Walker County, he had to be nice to the general population, but his patience was fried. After his long trip from Austin, and with another three or four hours ride before he’d reach his ranch, he didn’t need this hassle right now.

Forcing a smile on his face, he turned.

Madeline Cowden, his only friend in this war against the plot to get him devoted wife, stepped forward and wrapped her arm through his. “I believe I have the answer to that little problem you’re having.”

He grinned, delighted with the news that she might have found him a suitable lady to meet his unique situation. “Good. Why don’t we get in out of this bitter breeze and discuss the matter?”

Three Books From the #NakedBluffseries by @AnitaPhilmar , #HotRead , #Western

A Cowboy’s Pleasure

Blurb–

Having traveled across the country to escape the war between the states, John Bristol Smith needs a job, any job.
Told of a potential job, he arrives at the interview with high expectation. Nothing, however, in his life prepared him for the nature of this assignment. Tess Van Pelt wants excitement and she means to have it.
Her husband is more than willing to pay for whatever she wants and she wants John.
Is this a job or a fantasy?

Excerpt:

“Then tell him straight out what you’re after.” Gab carried the tray over to the table in front of the couch where his wife sat. He handed her a glass then walked the other drink to John.
“Shouldn’t we, at least, give him a little background on us first?” She queried.
After taking the glass, John stepped to a wingback chair and perched on the edge. “I’m sure whatever type of job you’re offering, I’ll be more than willing to work for you.”
Gab chuckled, “You’re right. Most men would, but this requires you not discuss anything that happens within these walls with anyone.”
“Can you do that, John?” Mrs. Van Pelt sipped her drink and her eyes undress him.
Uncomfortable with her probing inspection, he glanced at her husband. “I have no one to tell. Remember, I’m new in town.”
“Yes, you are a God sent. Tess, here, is getting a little restless. She’s used to getting what she wants right away. And well, I’m afraid I’ve kept her waiting too long.” Gab turned to his wife and smiled. “I must admit, now that you are here, I believe the plan has more merit than I previously gave it.”
“See, I told you. It’ll be just like old times.” Tess patted the spot next to her on the couch and her husband sat beside her.
Sorting through every possible job he could envision, John struggled to come up with the task they wanted to achieve. Mrs. Van Pelt seemed excited by the possibility of him working with them. So perhaps, they liked him and would want him to hire on for a few months, maybe even longer.
“Then I guess we better see if John is open to the idea of making love to you,” Gab said and lifted his glass. “So what do you say?”

The Country Doctor's Bride

Blurb:

A hot, historical western stand-alone story with a satisfying HEA.

With no ties to Texas, Dixy secures a ride to the next town on her way out of the state. The driver, Tobias Poe offers to let her rest. While she’s in the back, he is shot.

Rushing to save him, she arrives in Naked Bluff, Texas.

The town’s doctor, Nathaniel Murphy can’t save him, but can he save her?

Penniless, alone, and now a murder suspect, Dixy has no alternative but to accept his help. Can this couple build a future together?
Or will a killer silence her forever?

Excerpt :

Dixy bit her lip and toyed with the buttons of her top. “I hate to admit it, but I had a dream about you.”
Happy she’d had a restless night too, he eased closer and fingered her bloomers. “I guess that explains why you didn’t fight me this morning when I kissed you. You were primed and ready for us to make love.”
She leaned back on the pillow behind her and released a button between her breasts. Her gaze stayed clue to his, and she licked her lips. The erotic thought of his cock in her mouth jumped to the forefront of his mind. “I know what happens when a man makes love to a woman, but I’m not exactly sure what I should do.”
“What do you feel like doing?” Nathan watched as she finished unbuttoning her blouse. The loose opening revealed a white camisole with silky ribbons. His mouth watered. He curled his fingers into her bloomers to keep from ripping the fabric apart.
“Would you think me a complete whore if I said I need to be free of my clothes?” She blushed and dipped her head. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that.”

A Cowboy's Passion

Blurb:

Tess Van Pelt doesn't have time to grieve the loss of her husband, not when the wolves are already at the door.  Still, she has a lover that is willing to help save her. He introduces her to his cousin, Reece Bristol Smith.
As a lawyer, Reece can keep the debtors at bay. The problem or solution is he can't keep his hands off Tess. With her deceased husband accused of murder and the major creditor making unreasonable demands, Reece has to secure Tess's future in the best way he knows how.

Now, will Tess trust him and his cousin to keep her safe or will he need to teach her a few lessons in handing over control to him?

A Cowboy's Passion is a hot adult erotic mystery that explores the passion of having multiple partners. MFM

Excerpt :

Tess couldn't hold back a small chuckle. "I don't know how you can say such a thing. I have bags under my eyes from crying. My clothes hang on me because I have no appetite. And worse of all, I'm the wife of a murderer." The last part had her vision blurring. "How could I've..."

"Stop, you had no way of knowing." John wrapped his arms around her and held her tight against his chest. "Now, why don't you come downstairs with me? I'll get you settled in the parlor with Reece and then head into the kitchen to get you some coffee."

She leaned into him for a moment longer, wanting him to take her back to bed and make love to her. Forcing the seductive idea out of her head, she lifted her gaze to his.

His lips twitched in amusement, and he cupped his hands around her face. "You're regretting your decision to have me sleep in the guest bedroom last night, aren't you?"

She stiffened, surprised by how easily he'd read her thoughts. Their bond had grown stronger over the last few days, but she didn't want to admit the truth to him. "I was thinking I should probably dress before meeting your cousin. After all, the man is a stranger."

"He won't be for long." He leaned forward and dropped a quick kiss on her lips. "One look at you, and he'll beg for a chance to join us in bed."

Her fingers curled and dug into the smooth cotton of his shirt. "I'm, uh, not sure that's wise."

John smiled and stepped to one side to direct her around the bed. "Sweetheart, we both know you are struggling to keep your hands off me. Wait until you meet Reece."

"Meaning?" She followed his lead out of the bedroom door without bothering to find her slippers.

"Only that it won't take you long before you'll desire him as much as you do me." He drew her to a stop at the top of the landing and swept her up into his arms. "Now, just relax. I'll have you settled on the couch in the parlor before I introduce you to Reece then I'll head off to the kitchen."

Tess wrapped her arms around his neck and didn't argue.

EXCERPT:
 PG
“The sub I remember would have vibrated with excitement at the mention of punishment and jumped to embrace the prospect.”
That deep voice, the only one to slither past the fear and pain numbing her mind during three days of huddling in cold, complete darkness, now drew a wave of rippling uncertainty.  After taking another long drink, she swiveled to face Dan, leaned forward with a small grin and managed to pull up the old Nan still struggling to re-emerge.
“Master Dan.  For you, I might change my mind.”
Apparently, she wouldn’t make a good actress.  His narrowed dark eyes and tight set to his mouth signaled he saw through her attempt to flirt and tease with him.  She didn’t like the calculated gleam that entered his eyes as he removed his hat and tossed it on the bar top.  He fisted his hands on his hips, drawing her gaze to the thick, wide belt around his waist and she recalled the sting of the supple leather snapping across her buttocks.  The quick, welcome rush of heat subsided as he held out his hand, a silent invitation he’d issued, and she’d accepted, countless times before.
Nan started to reach for him, ignoring the churning in her gut, determined to move forward no matter what, when the sudden whoosh and snap of leather striking bare skin followed by a high-pitched screech echoed down from the loft and pitched her back into that dark space where the same sound had delivered waves of excruciating agony.  Bile pushed up to clog her throat and freeze her acceptance of Master Dan’s offer.  She squeezed her eyes shut, the only way to keep from looking up at the source of another flesh-connecting snap.  Jerking as if struck, the memory of searing pain splitting her skin and blood dripping swept back to haunt her.
“Breathe, Nan.”  Master Dan emphasized that command by pushing her head down and massaging the tight muscles of her upper back.
She fought the swell of despair and humiliation as hard as she struggled to breathe in.  I’m still as much of a pathetic mess as I was months ago.  The thought pissed her off as fast as that sound hurled her back to a place she never wanted to go again.

AUTHOR BIO:
I live in the Midwest with my husband and our dog, a lovable Great Pyrenees/Standard Poodle.  I love dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting dogs and kids, reading and working puzzles.  We have traveled extensively throughout the states, Canada and just once overseas, but I now prefer being a homebody.  I worked for a while writing articles for a local magazine but soon found my interest in writing for myself peaking.  My first book was strictly spanking erotica, but I slowly evolved to writing erotic spanking romance with a touch of suspense.  My favorite genre to read is suspense.

Camille's Second Chance by Alyssa Bailey #Contemporary , #Cowboys ,#Western

Camille wants a life with Sawyer; not everyone agrees.

Blurb

“We’re going to the ranch. This Daddy is taking care of all his little ones.”

Before she was twenty-one, Camille Hendrix had been lied to, cheated on, assaulted twice, forced into a loveless marriage, divorced, and left to fend for herself with one baby and another on the way. She had also been loved by a man she left without a word of explanation and missed every day of her life. Now, with a nursing degree and two preschoolers she was determined to return to her hometown and make a life, if possible, with the only man she ever loved. But was it too much to ask? Someone in town thought so.

Sawyer Knight was the most sought-after playboy in three counties and probably more. Everyone knew the woman he loved had suddenly left town without a word. Since then, Sawyer could be seen most weekends at the Whet Whistle, kicking up dust, getting toasted, and going home with a different woman. No woman was permanent in his life and Sawyer made that known loud and clear, until Cami came back to town. She was divorced, a mother, and life weary but when he laid eyes on her in his brother’s house, she was still the most beautiful, feisty woman he’d ever seen. Maybe more than ever because her strength of character shone through the battle scars and his heart immediately yearned for her. If he claimed her this time, he wouldn’t let her go without a fight. It seemed the first opponent had already entered the ring.

This is book two in the Clearwater Ranch series but can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Publisher’s Note: This contemporary western romance is intended for adults only. It contains elements of mystery, suspense, sensual scenes and power exchange. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase.

But tonight, regardless of what had gone before or because of it, she would agree with him and stay at the Clear Knight.

“Oh, I think we’ll be fine, Piper. In fact, we should get back before my parents go to bed.” Camille began to pick up her plate and started to clear away the other dishes. Jackson’s big hand covered hers.

“Don’t worry, honey, I’ll get this handled after you all go to the ranch.” His meaning was clear. Go home with Sawyer and figure this out.

“Why do you have to get there before they go to bed? Was it because you were going to stay here but have now changed your mind?” asked Sawyer.

Sawyer was giving no quarter and knew she wouldn’t ask for any. Cami didn’t answer as she continued to gather her bag and reached for Lily. Sawyer was not playing any games with Camille nor was he going to keep his thoughts to himself. He’d call her on anything he felt needed to be addressed. He pushed the point with his woman.

“Don’t you have a key to the house?”

His woman, yes, his. He still claimed her no matter what had happened in the past. He was the most complete he had been since he got her message and found out she was gone. She stared into his eyes acting as though she had been caught a naughty act and didn’t want to admit it but didn’t want to lie. His feelings for her were so intense they hurt.

 “Cami?”

She replied quietly. “No one calls me that anymore.”

“Except me. Stop avoiding my questions.”

Her heavy sigh rang out. “I had a difference of opinion with my mother and she said she didn’t want to risk the wrong people getting access to her home. Her implications were clear."

“The hell she did!” the words rolled out like thunder in a storm.

“Daddy,” two little voices chastised, “that’s a bad word.” He grinned at the sound of being called daddy and quickly apologized. Things were definitely changing. Returning his attention to Cami, he sobered. Sawyer hadn’t missed the hitch in her voice or the trembling lip she was biting. He reached out and pulled it from between her teeth. Leaning in, he commanded in a low voice next to her ear.

“We’re going to the ranch. This daddy is taking care of all his little ones.”

Power exchange adventures between strong, intelligent, sassy women who aren’t afraid to make a stand and men confident enough to give his woman space, but Alpha enough to keep her safe despite her choices is a common theme.

Family and community is important to Alyssa and it’s one reason she loves series. She is expanding her horizons and comfort zone with every new book; that’s exciting.
