Furious, Catherine Jensen refuses to allow her dream of marrying Trent McCall to fall into ruins because of an end-of-the-trail party. Not wanting him to sleep with a painted lady or two on the eve of their engagement, she arranges a seduction. But at what cost? Will it secure their future or ruin her squeaky-clean reputation?

Excited to celebrate his success of completing a long cattle drive with a sexy lady, Trent is blindsided with the news of an arranged marriage between him and a girl he hasn’t seen in four years because she’d hightailed it to Boston. Now a city girl, she’d probably turn out to be just like his family’s deserting momma, who’d bail when the going got tough.

Pissed, his bad mood eases when he learns a special lady was meeting him at his hunting cabin. With the future uncertain, he figured a passion-filled night might lighten the load of his matrimonial chains.

– Texas Passion is a hot historical western romance. This novella guarantees a HEA with several other stories in the series.

– Second edition. Newly revised and edited.

Tagline—Determined woman means to secure her man.

PG Excerpt:

Damn it, how can dad expect me to marry a girl I haven’t seen in years?

“Hey, Trent, it looks like you got to the party a little late. Good thing Ms. Lillian saved a special girl for you.”

Caught off guard by the comment, he whirled around and noticed Hank standing next to a nearby stall. “What?”

Shifting his feet, he again scanned the half-clad women around the area. Had his father arranged a private session to soften his resistance to an arranged marriage? “Where is she hiding?”

“Said you’d find her at your old hunting cabin.” Hank tipped back his glass and drained it before slamming the empty on the table. “As for me, I’m heading home to my wife. These boys don’t look like they’ll last much longer.”

Studying the motley group, Trent nodded. “You’re right. There’s not much point in hanging around here. Not if I have a woman waiting for me somewhere else.” Without bothering with goodbyes, he strolled out of the building. After the weeks he’d spent in the saddle, he could use a different type of ride. One that included pounding into a hot pussy to release the frustration pooling in his loins.

“I saddled your horse and tied it over here by mine.” Following him outside, Hank pointed to his favorite stallion standing next to a Bay.

Confused why he hadn’t noticed his horse when he’d entered the barn, he muttered a low growl of thanks.

Recalling his meeting with his father, he remembered the angry words they’d shared that still rattled his nerves. Then he pictured the satisfying smile on his father’s face and the unreasonable demand to comply without offering some type of discussion. Suddenly, a nagging tickle at the back of his neck prompted him to review their encounter and found something was off.

But what?

Shoving aside the probing questions pinging inside his brain, he strolled to his black horse and untied the reins from the hitching post. A cooling breeze brushed across his face and some of his earlier anger with his father’s ultimatum faded. “I bet the girl who’s waiting for me is already asleep.”

Joyful review but no longer posted on their site.

Texas Passion is a quick romp into a woman getting what she has always wanted. While I felt Catherine was being portrayed as rather manipulative it did work for the overall storyline. Texas Passion is an erotic and fast paced historical/western romance that you will enjoy.

Let's Thanks #Reviewers Everywhere #books @Amazon #ASMSG

It sounds easy, doesn't it?

Read a book and give a review.

Hey, we had to do it as kids in school.

Funny, but I still don't enjoy writing a review. Mainly, because I'm not sure exactly what to say that another reader might want to know. That's why I appreciate great reviews. They tell you what you want to know without giving away the plot or the ending.

So today I wanted to say thanks to all the people who spend time reviewing books. Good or bad review, you are appreciated by both authors and readers. Keep up the good work.

I thought I'd share a few of my reviews from Amazon.

McKee's Ghost (on sale now for 99cents)

Brenda (Amazon Review) This is an old west romance with a paranormal twist. The author does a great job developing the characters and weaving an interesting story line. The McKee brothers know what they want when they see it and with the help of their resident ghosts , set out to get them. The author brings a multitude of colorful characters that help move the story such as Grandma Nettie and Barney , the ghosts and also little Genna and her ability to talk to Clyde , the stubborn horse. I loved this book and would highly recommend reading.

A Cowboy's Passion  (free on KU)

Stephanie V. (Amazon Review) This book is A Cowboy's Passion written by Anita Philmar. It's not as long as I prefer but I guess you can only put so many hot as heck scenes into one book! It's set back in the old west and there is a lot of partner sharing going on up in here! Whew! Where is the fire hose??

More Than Ready (99cents)

Irene Talbert (Amazon Review)  The story is about Mary Beth and Kirk. Mary Beth it seems has been interested in Kirk since he tried to....well let's just say....try to do more than kiss 💋 her.
Kirk has been interested in Sadie his dead brother's widow. So, he decided to do the honorable thing by marrying her but she marries someone else.
Picture a barn, a guy and a gal with a lasso. What happens next is interesting to say the least.
Read to find out what happens.

Thanks reviewers for all you do,

The #History of the Cattle Drive by Anita Philmar #cowboys and #romance

During the late 1800’s, cowboys drove millions of cattle to the railroad towns of Abilene, Dodge City, Wichita, and Newton. A long trip, men were out on the trail for twelve to sixteen weeks, covering over a thousand miles to get the herd to market. In Texas, this process usually started in February with the ranchers branding all their cattle. Then they would decide on which ones to sale. With over a thousand heads, a team of maybe fifteen men handled the herd on the trail.

These men faced all types of hardships: sickness, indians, bad weather, and hours on end in the saddle. The trail boss took the lead and scouted ahead for water, grass, and places to bed down for the night. The cattle strung out in a long line. Two men would ride at the front of the line keeping the lead cows pointed in the direction they wanted them to go. Several other cowboys would ride intermittently along the long trail. These flank riders kept the cattle moving. At the end of the line were the rear riders, making sure no animal strayed from the herd.

In my story “Texas Passion,” Trent McCall is just getting home from a long cattle drive to Abilene and wants to unwind. But in his absence, his father's been making wedding plans...for Trent. The last thing he wants is a spoiled and pampered socialite for a wife. What he wants is a hard drink and a willing woman. An uncomplicated woman who understands a man’s need for release after a hard ride. Good thing he’s got one waiting for him.

Four years back East haven’t changed Catherine Turnberry’s mind. Her heart is set on neighboring rancher, Trent McCall. Taking the place of the whore hired to pleasure Trent, she intends to give him a welcome he'll never forget and show him what Texas passion is all about.

Here is an excerpt:

“Well, now, did you think I’d ever arrive?” He shut the door and tossed his hat onto the table by the door. Dark curly hair circled his head, and his dark brown eyes met hers.
“I had no doubt you’d get here eventually.” Her hands shaking, Catherine laid her book on the rocker and tried for a more seductive tone. “But I’d like to know what delayed you.”

One corner of his mouth turned up in a crooked grin, he stepped forward, and then paused. “Wait a second, don’t I know you?”

Catherine nodded and toyed with the knot holding her robe together. Should she shed her robe and try to seduce him first? Or just tell him her name?
He tilted his head slightly, and a frown formed on his lips. The subdued lighting of the lantern didn’t mask the lines marring his brow.
Apprehension slithered over her skin, and a lump the size of Texas grew in her throat. “I…uh…”

“Catherine?”

More of an accusation than a question, her name echoed in her head. “Yes, I…” She edged closer.
He shuffled backward until his back hit the door. “What the hell are you doing here?” His gaze dropped to swell of her breasts, and the cattywhumped expression on his face registered. Clarity filled her head. The man might deny it, but the heat in his eyes proved he found her appealing. Energy pulsed through her, and she untied the knot at her waist. “I decided, since we’re practically engaged, I didn’t want you sleeping with another woman.”

“Whoa, don’t even think about removing that robe.” He held out his hands to stop her, but his tongue slid over his parched lips and the blaze in his eyes sparked higher. Catherine’s confidence grew, and the doubt that had plagued her for the last few hours faded. He might resist, but she’d show him this was what they both wanted.

First Review for "Texas Passion"

From Vicky at Sizzling Hot Books.

"Texas Passion is a hot quick read. There are several sexy scenes that scorch the pages they are written on. The chemistry between Trent and Catherine works so well that one wonders why Trent is surprised by her pursuit of him. The little touches Anita Philmar includes to place the setting, like the heat or the dust storm later in Texas Passion, reminds me enough of the Texas to make me home sick for my childhood. (I haven’t lived there for decades, but one never forgets Texas weather!) And the heat of the story matches the heat of Texas, so make sure you are near a cooling device (sweet ice tea is always a classic for a southern setting) when reading this one!"
