One of the goals of an author is to have a fan base. These are the people who buy your books and love to read you.

But how do they know you have a new book out?

Check online?
Hear about it from a friend?

A newsletter is a great promotional tool for an author. Some send out a newsletter every month, others when they have a new release or quarterly. It depends on what you have time to do or what you want to do.

It can be easily setup through a yahoo group.

The author is in charge of the group and can send things out when they want.

Readers can sign up and leave when they want.

If you're thinking about starting a newsletter, you might want to try this and see how it works for you.

Of course in all things, there are many ways to do things and different programs you can purchase to create a newletter. If you know of a better way, please let me know. I love learning new things.
