Excerpt

The doors were open and I called down the hall from the bedroom that I was nearly ready to put on my dress. Moments later I came out of the bath to see Tom standing in the bedroom doorway. No one wears a tux better than my Tom. He was stunning. The look on his face was one of questioning. As he stepped into the room I saw that he was holding his belt in his hand.
I think I let out a small gasp and instinctively reached around and put my hands protectively over my bottom. Even my hands there caused a little pain. Tom was demanding nothing, he was simply offering. It was my choice. I could walk over, give Tom a kiss and remove the belt from his hand. Tom only came in with the belt because he knows what it does to me. My heart was pounding as I stood looking at him.
It felt like the air was tingling around me. I didn’t think, I just went around to the far side of the bed, grabbed a pillow and folded myself over the edge. Tom lifted up the delicate robe and folded it over my back and ran his fingers gently over his waiting and willing target.
The first crack of the belt sent me soring. The pain radiated out, but pleasure danced in its wake. I heard the belt whistle and the mixture of pain and pleasure coursed through me again. Tom used the belt one last time and I was melting into the bed. How can the combination of pain and pleasure be so completely intertwined? Tom rubbed my back as I came to myself, intentionally not touching my bottom. He didn’t want to lessen the flaming feeling he had reignited – he wanted it to go to the party with me. I stood slowly my hands going back on their own until Tom grabbed and stopped them. “Leave it,” he told me quietly.

Meet PK Corey

I’m a small town southern writer, happily married to my best friend for thirty-two years now. We have two grown children and we're learning to love the empty nest. Next year will see the end of a long and satisfying teaching career and I'm anxious to spend more time writing. I didn't grow up with the desire to be a writer, but I did love to daydream. As a child, I spent most of my spare time, and quite a bit of time when I should have been doing schoolwork, either reading or making up stories. I was actual quite young when Cassie wandered into my head and began telling me her story. I've always been drawn to spanking stories, but I need a true love story with it. That's how I see Cassie and Tom - a true love story with spanking thrown in.

Questions

So first, of course, the obvious question. How did you become a writer?

I’ve made up stories in my head since I was very young. I remember making up my first spanking story around the age of four. I never actually wrote any stories down until I was in my late forties and I began to blog. Readers were very encouraging and I finally submitted my first book, Cassie’s Space in 2013.

Tell me about your latest release

Cassie Corralled is the eighth in the Cassie Space series. This book continues the adventures of a couple who actively practice domestic discipline and have through out their forty-year marriage. This was always the type story I loved – a husband who loves his wife more than anything else in his life, but doesn’t hesitate to put her over his knee for a sound spanking if she puts herself in danger or is less than truthful with him. Through it all the love story is first.

Are you like any of your heroines?

A definite yes and no. Sometimes I think I gave too much of myself to Cassie – she can be fiery and hot headed, she’s fearless and strong. Since Cassie comes from me I feel these are my traits too – but it’s only as I’ve gotten older I feel I’ve given myself permission to be more like Cassie.

How many books have you written? Are they all spanking fiction?

I’ve published eight in the Cassie’s Space series. They are all spanking fiction, it’s what I understand and enjoy writing.

Are you okay in your kink?

I’m not only okay, I’m proud. I’m a born spanko who, like so many of us, hid it most my life. Once I embraced it, when reached a point where I don’t have to hide my true self from anyone, I’ve been much happier. I don’t go out and preach it on the street corner, but I can certainly hold my own in a conversation where someone is calling it unnatural or abusive.

Do you have a specific writing style?

I need to see and hear what’s going on with my characters. My husband teases me about saying I’m going to go write and he sees me in the recliner with my eyes closed. He thinks I’m sleeping when I’m actually watching what’s happening and afterwards I just write what I saw (ok, sometimes I’m sleeping).

How did you come up with the title?

With great difficulty and gnashing of teeth!

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Yes! Mostly that love and passion are not the soul property of the young. Getting older brings on challenges, but it doesn’t change your feelings about love, or sex or even your kink. And for all the twenty-something’s saying ‘ewww…’ there are more in their fifties, sixties, seventies and beyond saying ‘YES!’

Do you see writing as a career?

I’ll soon be retiring from my teaching career. I do tend to think of writing as my next career. Could I support myself writing? No, not now, but it’s way more important to me than just a hobby.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Of course! I can’t imagine any writer re-reading a just published book where they wouldn’t want to change something. But I’m still happy with it.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Quit waiting to get it ‘exactly right’ before you send the book off – especially the first one. If you wait until it’s perfect, it will be sitting in your computer when you’re on your deathbed. Take the leap.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Mostly I want to say something to those who haven’t read any of my books and that would be, ‘If you’re here because you have an interest in spanking and domestic discipline, please don’t be put off by the fact that Cassie and Tom aren’t in their twenties or thirties. If you are a lover of a love story first, with plenty of spanking on the side – then the Cassie Space books are for you. Please give one a try – jump in anywhere, you don’t have to go in order.’

What was the first live concert you ever attended?

Elton John and we Rocked round the Clock!

Capturing His Heart by Daryl Devore #daryldevore,#Hot,#romance,

Caution - One smouldering twisted fairy tale mixed with one hot medieval romance might burn more than your fingers.

Capturing His Heart

A water droplet landed on Red’s cheek and startled her. She wiped it and opened her eyes. “Welcome back, sleepy head.” Chopper wiped his hand on his shorts and placed the glass of water on the table.

“Have I been out long?” She looked at her watch and wondered what time she'd fallen asleep.

“I've been here about five minutes.” Chopper jumped up. “Ok, now that you're awake, I just have to tell you. This song popped into my head and it's driving me crazy.”

Red dropped her tablet into her beach bag and waited for him to continue.

“It's the Red Riding Hood song. I think Sam the Sham and the Prophets sang it. It's like from like the mid-sixties.”

She shook her head. “Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. And it took you long enough to get there. Most people start cracking jokes within minutes of hearing my name.”

“I wasn't focused yesterday. But today, I'm Michael Jackson!” He stepped right and left and snapped his fingers.

“Little Red Riding Hood.

You sure are looking good.

You're everything that a big, bad wolf could want.”

He spun around and posed, one arm at his crotch and flung the other up in the air. “Owooooooo!

Trying to keep a straight face, Red asked, “You aren't going to send in an application for that dance show thing, right?”

“What, you don't like my dancin'?” He shook his knees in and out and flapped his arms like a chicken, then made two-handed stirring motions, like he was in front of a large cauldron. “Why are you laughing? I'm just getting started.” He leaned forward and jerked up his right hand. “It's called the lawn mower. But, if you do it this way…” He straightened and repeated the pulling motion. “Then it's the chainsaw. Oh. Oh. And now for the big finale. The Moonwalk.”

He slid his right foot back and popped his left heel, then slid that foot back. Red had to admit he did a good version of Michael's famous move – until he backed into the waiter and knocked a tray of drinks onto the passengers seated near her.

Stop that crying or by all that is powerful, I will beat you.”

“Do not yell so. You will frighten the poor child.”

Through tears, Branwyn stared at her uncle and aunt. “I… I do not understand. Why must I go?”

Her aunt sat next to her. “It is your time, child. A husband has been chosen. You must leave us to join with him.”

“About time it is!” Her uncle’s face grew redder with each word. “One year shy of a score she is, and still unwed. She must fall to her knees to thank God someone wishes to marry such an old spinster.”

Branwyn slapped the arm of her chair. “I decline. It is my right. I shall not marry this man!”

“How many men do you think you can refuse?” Her uncle paced about the small room. “This is the fourth suitor to ask for your hand. You cannot. It is done. Your things are being loaded as we speak.” He jerked back a curtain in the window and pointed.

The door opened and in stepped a tall, broad-shouldered soldier. “The carriage awaits.”

“Branwyn.” Aunt Selda patted her hand. “You have no dowry. This is a good match. He is a rich man. He will give you babies.”

Suspicion gnawed at Branwyn’s stomach. “And what did he give you?”

“Gold.”

Even with her grandmother's words ringing in Red's ears - Never trust a wolf in sheep's clothing - Red has trouble choosing which man is the big bad wolf and which is her happily ever after.

Branwyn’s Love transports you back to medieval times. It is the tale of a young woman sold as a courtesan in training. Branwyn arrives in a new land to begin daily lessons in the bewildering art of bedding a man.

Seducing His Sassenach : Author Synopsis

When the baby she cares for is stolen by the king’s men, nursemaid Jane Bartle is determined to see the child restored to her grieving mother. She is not sure how she might achieve this, but help arrives in the form of a formidable northern lord, sent by baby Cecily’s new step-father to find out what happened to the child. Jane is able to lead Robert MacGregor to where Cecily is being held.

Robbie is glad of Jane’s assistance. Sher has saved him a great deal of trouble, but he never expected the feisty nurse to insist upon accompanying him and his band of Highlanders the length of England. Their journey is perilous, not least because the King’s armies are on the move, preparing to confront the Scots at Flodden.

As they face danger together, attraction flares between the high-born northern lord and the girl from the Plymouth slums. But once their shared mission is over, what will bind them together?

Excerpt

Jane did not accept the offer of a ride at the first time of asking. Nor the second, nor the third.

But ten miles was a long way on foot. Jane might be stubborn—her mother had pointed out that fact on countless occasions. But she was not a fool. She obliged the handsome but arrogant Scot to ask her a fourth time if she would be so good as to join him on his warhorse before finally halting her stride and allowing him to reach down for her hand. He hauled her up into the saddle as though she weighed no more than a sackful of feathers and helped her to arrange herself with as great a degree of comfort as might be achieved.

She was unaccustomed to being on horseback and found the entire experience distinctly disconcerting at first.

It was so high.

And the saddle moved and shifted beneath her. She would surely fall to her death.

“Be still, girl,” the Scot growled in her ear. “I have ye.”

Normally, he would have earned a stinging rebuke and stern advice regarding the proper use of her given name, but Jane was too preoccupied with hanging onto the pommel and praying for divine deliverance.

After a mile or so, she began to relax. The horse moved with a steady gait, and the Scot’s arm was wrapped firmly about her middle. He did, indeed, have her and she knew he would not let her fall.

“Ye’re quite sure ye can recall the right way tae get tae this gamekeeper’s cottage?”

The other Scot raised the question when she directed them to leave the main track and head northeast across the open countryside. His appearance was the more fearsome of the pair, though Jane felt there was not a great deal to pick between them. Scots were a dour bunch, she concluded. The man raised one dark eyebrow to suggest he did not entirely trust her sense of direction.

Jane bristled but bit her tongue rather than point out to the fool that he was the stranger in these parts, not she. “I know exactly where it is,” she replied instead, peering into the forest of trees that lay ahead. “This way is not the quickest, but it will not require us to go anywhere near Godlington.”

“Fair enough.”

There were no paths through the dense woodland, and little in the way of landmarks. But Jane knew that they had to cross a wide brook, and she recalled seeing the rotting carcase of a long-dead oak tree close to the water.

“This way,” she whispered when the sound of fast-flowing water reached her ears, and she blessed the recent rain that had swelled the stream.

The horses waded through, and on the far side she caught sight of the felled oak. “We are going the right way. I think perhaps a couple of hours more…”

“It will be after nightfall, then, by the time we reach the cottage.” The man whose horse she shared made this observation and she could hear the displeasure in his tone.

“That cannot be helped,” she snapped. “Are you afraid of the dark, sir?”

His companion chuckled, but the arm around her waist tightened a little, to the point of discomfort. Perhaps she should learn to guard her tongue more. After all, she needed these two. She could hardly rescue baby Cecily on her own.

“The man, this gamekeeper, may no’ give the child up easily,” the Scot explained. “If it comes tae a fight, he will have an advantage since he is on land he knows. Better for us tae take the child i’ the mornin’, then we have the whole o’ the day tae put distance between ourselves an’ this place.”

“Oh. Yes.” She had not thought of that but could see the logic clearly enough. Perhaps there was more to her companions than mere brawn. “Then, we should get as close as we can without being seen, and camp for the night.”

“Have ye ever slept under the stars, Jane?” he inquired softly.

“No, but I am sure it will be perfectly fine. The evening is warm.”

“Aye, but no’ quite so warm ye will no’ require a blanket or two. I suppose ye did bring a blanket, Jane?”

“I…”

No she had no blanket, no food, no flask of ale to swig at when the sun became too hot.

Worse, she had nothing for Cecily, either.

“I thought not.” Can this man read my very thoughts? “Ye shall have tae share one of ours, then.”

“I—”

It was on the tip of her tongue to tell him to go straight to the devil, but she thought better of it. The night might well become chilly. And, whilst his companion might look rather more ferocious than she cared for, the one who now pressed his body close to hers was undeniably easy on the eye. It would be no real hardship to share his blanket.

More about Ashe Barker

USA Today best-selling author Ashe Barker has been an avid reader of fiction for many years, erotic and other genres. She still loves reading, the hotter the better. But now she has a good excuse for her guilty pleasure – research.

Ashe tends to draw on her own experience to lend colour, detail and realism to her plots and characters. An incident here, a chance remark there, a bizarre event or quirky character, any of these can spark a story idea.

Ashe lives in the North of England, on the edge of the Brontë moors and enjoys the occasional flirtation with pole dancing and drinking Earl Grey tea. When not writing – which is not very often these days - her time is spent caring for a menagerie of dogs, tortoises.  And a very grumpy cockatiel.

At the last count Ashe had over sixty titles on general release with publishers on both sides of the Atlantic, and several more in the pipeline. She writes M/f, M/M, and occasionally rings the changes with a little M/M/f. Ashe’s books invariably feature BDSM. She writes explicit stories, always hot, but offering far more than just sizzling sex. Ashe likes to read about complex characters, and to lose herself in compelling plots, so that’s what she writes too.

Ashe has a pile of story ideas still to work through, and keeps thinking of new ones at the most unlikely moments, so you can expect to see a lot more from her.

Tempted by the adventurous opportunity and enthralled with the sexy woman, he holds her to the claim of matrimony. Will this end with a happy-ever-after union or a soul-crushing heartache?

Tagline – Saved by a sexy stranger, Carolyn Devans tells a lie can claims Marcus Goodman is her husband…Now can she hope for a happy-ever-after or just enjoy a brief affair?

Sinking lower into the murky depths, Marcus realized her panicked grip had loosened before a muffled scream rang above him and a foot connected with his chest. Seconds later, air exploded from his lungs. Darting away from her, he scurried to the surface and was met with a roaring whirl.

Gulping in both air and water, his lungs rejected the mixture, causing a stream of coughs to inhibit his progress of saving the drowning damsel.

Plop.

Spinning, he caught sight of a floating white circle before waves crashed around him.

“Grab hold, and we’ll pull you up.” A voice boomed from the steamboat.

Instantly glancing around, he noticed the woman struggling to reach the device. Swimming over to her, he shoved her closer to the floating ring before grabbing hold and draping an arm around her waist. “Just hold on, and they’ll lift us up.”

Eyes growing wider, she stared up at the boat’s railing. “But...”

After being drug for a short distance, the ring lifted onto its side. Tightening his grip on the woman, he repositioned her into its center. “If you put your head through here, you can wrap your arms over the sides, and it’ll help keep you steady.”

Seconds after following his instructions, the device rose between them. Immediately grabbing ahold of the rope, he wrapped his arms around her and the ring. Then the upward movement tugged them from the water. His feet dangled in the river for a moment before they swung on the end of the line. The rope jerking them upward, slammed him into the side of the steamboat. Pain radiated along his right side, prompting his grip to tighten.

“Oh, God, what if they drop us?” Her whispered words rang with fear before she buried her face onto his upper torso. “Thanks for at least trying to save me.”

Plastered against him, her silky skin caressed his stomach while her alluring warmth penetrated the fabric of his pants, diverting the pain in his back and created a fire in his blood that eased the frigid chill of the tributary.

Hearing the voices of the people lining the steamboat’s railing, he glanced up at the concerned expressions above. With his frame hiding the naked woman in his arms, he couldn’t help but wonder what the curious passengers would say when they finally arrived on board in their current state of undress.
