Branwyn's Love by Daryl Devore #erotic , #courtesan , #love

5 Quickies with Daryl Devore

1. Can you tell me what you are working on now?

Yes. And I am sorely tempted to leave it there. I like that sick kind of humour. I am nearing the end of a medieval fantasy. Yes, it has a dragon.

2. Where do you find inspiration for your stories?

All over the place. One book – the inspiration came from a song. Another – I had the last line and had to write a book to get to that point.

3. What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

Raks Sharqi (belly dance) and yoga.

4, What item, that you don't have already, would you most like to own?

A tiara. Which is hilarious. I live in sweats or blue jeans.

5. Do you use a pseudonym? If so how did you choose it?

I use Daryl Devoré for my hot romances and Victoria Adams for my sweet romances. Although I am in the process of combining the two into one name.  Daryl Devoré – was a collaboration of my critique group. My real first name is Daryl then we came up with a last name. Victoria Adams – the name just popped into my head.

Blurb:

Daryl Devoré pens another hot read – the medieval romance -Branwyn’s Love.

The tale of a young woman sold as a courtesan in training. Branwyn arrives in a new land to begin daily lessons in the bewildering art of bedding a man.

The noblewoman chosen to be Prince Malacke’s bride rejects him by bedding his hated rival. Malacke turns his anger towards increasing the power and wealth of Black Dorn castle. And he succeeds until his attention is captured by the face of the woman who will be his queen.

Note: This book contains elements of domination, submission, and fetishes. If these concepts disturb you, please do not purchase or read this book. Branwyn’s Love was formerly known as Black Dorn and published by New Dawning.

Excerpt –

“Excellent. Now we begin your first and most important lesson - tragor. In your language, it has many meanings. But I believe duty is a good word. Through your duty, you must submit. Submission is your tragor. Do you understand what that word means?”
“Yes, Duna Trea. I am a very obedient person. When my aunt or uncle requested I do something, I did it without question.”
“But yesterday I told you not to speak to anyone unless spoken to first, yet you disobeyed me. And did it to Gon-Dra Malacke.”
“I am sorry,” said Branwyn. “I was frightened and confused. I…I did not know who he was. But Leah explained these things to me.”
“So, do you state that you understand tragor?”
She closed her eyes and nodded.
“Then stand and remove your upper garments. Unlace your bodice, let it and your sleeves drop to your waist.”
With trembling fingers, Branwyn tried to comply, but the laces refused to undo.
Duna Trea waited while Branwyn fumbled with the laces. “Now your shift. Expose your body.”
Branwyn’s muscles stiffened. A chill swept through her. “But I will be naked! One should not expose one’s body to another. It is against the—”
A flash of anger filled Duna Trea’s eyes.
Remembering Leah’s instructing and her discomfort, Branwyn did not want to cause any more pain to her. Surely, Duna Trea knows it is wrong to expose oneself. She paused, hoping her duna would rescind the order.
“Tragor.” One anger-filled word hung in the room.
Eyes squeezed shut, and bottom lip trembling, she reached for the bow to loosen the front of her shift, tugged on the right sleeve and removed her right arm. She gripped the material in her underarm and lowered the left sleeve. Placing her arms in front of her breasts, hands clasped under her chin, she raised her elbows, letting the material drop.
“Lower your arms.”
Three simple words cut Branwyn like knives. She tried to drop her arms, but the muscles refused to obey. Tears slipped between closed lids and trickled down her cheeks.
“Tragor, Dune.”
With every muscle fibre fighting the motion, Branwyn lowered her arms but held her hands clasped before her.
“Place your hands behind your back. Complete exposure. Good girl. Now step this way.”
Duna Trea stood next to Malacke.

Wiping her eyes with the back of her hand, Branwyn stepped over and stood next to Trea. “Have you ever touched a man?”

Cranberry Bliss Bars – BETTER THAN STARBUCKS! And cheaper too!
For years I would make it a sinful habit to treat myself at least once a week to a cranberry bliss bar and a chai tea latte with egg nog, because they’re only around for a short time, so the belly needs to stock up. But then I decided to try and make my own, that way I could eat a whole pan if I wanted to, and in the comfort of my own home (in the dark in a corner with crumbs all over my face…you get the picture). And voila, I found the perfect recipe that mimics the original, if not improves upon it. Now I just have to figure out how to copy their chai lattes with egg nog and I never have to leave my house again!
Recipe
Cranberry Bliss Bars
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (325 for a glass or dark pan). Prepare a 10x15 by lining it with parchment paper or use a non-stick spray.
  2. BARS: With an electric mixer, beat together softened butter and sugars 3-5 minutes until light; gently blend in eggs and orange extract (don't overbeat eggs). Add the flour, baking powder, and ginger and beat briefly. Add the cranberries and chips, stirring just until incorporated.
  3. Spread thick batter in prepared 10x15 pan. Bake 350 for 20-24 minutes until light brown AT EDGES and a skewer tests clean. Don't overbake or your bars will be dry. Let it cool completely. NOTE: If you use a 9x13 pan, the bars will be thicker and will take 26-28 minutes.
  4. FROSTING: Blend cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Add orange extract and confectioners sugar and beat until frosting is fluffy and spreadable (adding 1 t. milk if needed). Spread evenly over COOLED bars.
  5. GARNISH: Use a zester to remove rind from an orange; sprinkle zest over frosted bars. Chop 1/3 cup Craisins coarsely; sprinkle over frosted bars.
  6. DRIZZLE: Mix white chocolate and oil in a glass measuring cup. Microwave 1 minute; stirring every 15 seconds until melted. Use a fork or whisk to drizzle the white chocolate diagonally across the bars.
  7. Allow one hour for the white chocolate to set before cutting. **To make signature Starbuck triangles, cut into 20 large squares (5 cuts by 4 cuts with the knife). Then cut each square in half diagonally to create triangles.
Ingredients

·         BARS

  • 1cup butter (2 sticks, very soft)
  • 1cup brown sugar (some cooks reduce this to 2/3 cup)
  • 13cup granulated sugar

Excerpt
I turned my head around as I continued up the path and his smile was adorably cocky, shit-eating and amused beyond words. So I quickly spun back around to face the path, wondering if I should give him the satisfaction of playing into his comment and questioning it or if I should play my own game and ignore him, let him sweat -I’m not one for head games!
“What the hell did that mean!?” I asked, stopping in my tracks and facing him.
“Relax,” he said. Smile not leaving his eyes or his lips as he gently placed his hands on my shoulders to ground me, “I’m not asking you to marry me right now. But I KNOW for a fact that I am going to marry you. You’re everything I’ve ever wanted and I’ll wait until you’re ready and feel the same, but I WILL make you my wife, Kendra Black.” He shrugged again and smiled that adorable triumphant grin that made my heart melt and leap and spin and dance.
A small smile crept its way on to my face no matter how hard I tried to fight it, damn he was handsome. “Now get moving and stop fretting. I can see by that wrinkle between your brows that you’re worrying. Please don’t.” He turned me around by my shoulders and smacked my butt again until I started hiking. My mind reeling and going in all directions about what he’d just said. And maybe, just maybe, if I’m being 100% honest, thinking of bridal gowns, honeymoon destinations and flowers.

Language of Love - Is Everyone's the same? #romantic advise

When two people meet and fall in love, they may believe that they are a lot alike.

Yet, in truth, each express love in a different way.
Why is there a difference?

It depends on a number of things;
-how we were raised
-how our parents showed their love for each other
-what we observed in others
-what just feels right for us.

To one person saying "I love you" is giving away their soul, to another it might not mean as much.

So what are the different types of languages?

1. Words - yes, we want to hear the words but again, different words have different meanings to each individual. Honey pie, might be an endearment to one person and a slam to another.

Also, some people need to hear word of affirmation to be convinced the other person loves them. While some people are perfectly happy with acts of kindness.

2. Gifts - some people want the one they love to give them things to show that they are loved. This they believe is a physical sign that the other person is thinking about them and represents how much they care.

3. Acts of Love - this is where a person expects the one they love to show their love by performing acts of service or kindness. Helping around the house, getting your car washed, making the bed. As long as these things are done freely without them having to ask then they are seen as acts of love.

4. Time - quality time with the one we love is also the language of love. This is where two people spend time talking and listening to each other. If the one you love can't bother to give you the time of day, how then can they love you?

5. Touch - This is not just the act of jumping in bed. This is the little touches that show a person that you care. The brush of his hand along her back when they are walking through a door. The holding of hands on a walk through the park. The straighten of his tie before he goes to work. A million different touches.

All of these are important to know, but for writers this can be important to show how your two characters fall in love.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Anita

Anita's Tips for Couples

Admit it, being in a relationship is hard, but if you follow a few simple tips you can find happiness.

Share a common dream – when two people join together to reach a unified goal. It connects them in ways that inspires trust.  This can be as simple as planning a vacation or deciding on a new car, or as big as having a family.

Choose each other as your first family – once two people get married they both need to remember that the other person should now become their main concern. This is not to say you avoid his or her family but that you need time alone together.

Learn how to fight right – It can be easy to take your stress out on your spouse. Try to recognize those times when you are not at your best, then warn your partner you need time to regroup before discussing certain subjects.

Find a balance between time for two and time for you – Just because you are now with someone doesn’t mean you can’t have time for yourself. Each of you came into the relationship with interest that attracted the other. You still need that creative outlet to fuel your soul. Give yourself the time for yourself so you can be the person your spouse fell in love with.

Build a best friendship – if the two of you can become best friends then you’ll be closer to achieve the relationship you both want and can face down the major challenge in your life together.

Anita's Sexy Friday Night Plans

For those of you who are not feeling in the mood, let me remind you of a quote from one awesome woman -

Audrey Hepburn

"Sex appeal is something that you feel deep down inside. It's suggested rather than shown. I'm not as well-stacked as Sophia Loren or Gina Lollobrigida, but there is more to sex appeal than just measurements. I don't need a bedroom to prove my womanliness. I can convey just as much sex appeal, picking apples off a tree or standing in the rain."

Now get your game on and have some fun.

Find you're favorite hat and bat those eyes. Let your lover know that he's the one that rocks your world.

So here's to a sexy plan that is bound to have you both having fun.

- build a fire in the fireplace
- break out a deck of cards.
- play a few rounds of strip poker.(and who cares if you win, either way you are a winner.)
- do a little dance on the carpet
and retire to bed.

Sounds like a great way to spend the evening to me.

Wishing you a  wonderful time with the one you love,

Anita

Anita's Spicy Holiday Secrets to Keep Your Love Life Hot

The holiday season is upon us and the demands for our time is higher than ever.

So coming up with ways to keep the magic alive in a relationship is more important than ever. Though, we may not have the energy or the time to deal with keeping the romance going.

Hey, we have a job, kids, family, and responsibilities. You’re working as hard as you can to just get through the day, much less worry about an exciting sex life.

I couldn’t agree more, but it doesn’t have to be a big production. Little changes in your routine can reap big rewards.
- a kiss every your lover walks through the door or a odd time during the day.
- a touch when your close, a light pat, a caress, a quick shoulder rub
- fixing them a special meal
- working time in your schedule to spend with them.
- doing task together like shopping for gifts, washing the dishes, making the bed
- a wink, a sexy glance, a secret smile.
- a little gift (like a chocolate kiss a day.)

Spicing it up doesn't have to be a big production. It's the little things you do which take but a moment and show that you care that can show you care and build a solid relationship.

Have a fun filled day, full of love, joy and sex.

Anita's Naughty Ideas for the Weekend

A few game to play.

Do Everything but….

This can add suspense to your love life.

Agree to not let the evening end with intercourse.  You can touch, fondle, tease, stroke, etc, but knowing you can’t have something makes you want it that much more.

Just think what tomorrow can bring.  And if you get caught up in the excitement, yeah we won’t hold it against you.

or maybe try

Going commando.

Without underwear you are kept in touch with the erroneous zones of your body.  Men wear boxer so they can hang free.  Women should do the same to reduce the risk of vaginal infections and remind themselves that they have an appetite for sex too.

Just a few ideas to consider for the weekend,
